@pboyle.bsky.social working on a video report on the SpaceX IPO / Nasdaq index inclusion mechanics for @moreperfectunion.bsky.social. Your framing was the clearest I've seen. Tried your contact form but hit a submission limit.
Would love to connect. DM open?
Would it be fair to charge you more than someone else? What if I knew you were desperate or wealthier or just a sucker for a discount? Today we discuss surveillance pricing with @ericgardner.bsky.social & @justinbrookman.bsky.social

Monday I'll be speaking with @ericgardner.bsky.social and @justinbrookman.bsky.social about their study of surveillance pricing - why different people pay different prices for the same things.

I wouldn't say I liked it, but just on the merits passing a bunch of tariffs that he didn't remotely understand, all of which made everything at the grocery store cost either $7.99 or $13.99, really was one of President Trump's better policies.
Only parents of four year olds will get this.
AI absolutely has a use case in journalism but if you’re using it for story selection, quit. Seriously.
Thanks for this shoutout to our research --- which the UN Trade and Development Group discussed this morning (h/t @ericgardner.bsky.social and CR's Grace Geyde) --- and for showing how our research builds from @veenadubal.bsky.social's pathbreaking work on algorithmic wage discrimination.

sorry what's this about marc andreessen giving the nsa a way to eavesdrop on skype in the epstein files
I genuinely think boycotting the World Cup is some of the strongest leverage the Europeans have.
A competent opposition political party would cut together the footage of what ICE had been doing in the twin cities with Mike Johnson saying "ICE is doing what ICE is designed to do" and have it in ads all across the country
Tonight’s dumb napkin cartoon…
Dylan Byers 9:08pm tweet: Dylan Byers @DylanByers UPDATE: The “60 Minutes” segment on CECOT, which reflects very negatively on Trump administration, was fully ready and had been meticulously fact-checked and lawyered. The admin had declined to comment. Bari Weiss saw segment on Friday and, I’m told, decided to hold it. https://x.com/DylanByers/status/2002924264509608318
State media doing the bidding of Nazi criminals. CBS News is gone.
I can say this unequivocally, prices are not coming down in any meaningful way. There is simply no mechanism. The market is broken, and everyone involved knows it.
Re-groceries. I helped lead this investigation, and I spent the first part of my career in grocery pricing. FTC is investigating but I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. I don’t think the question is, is government intervention needed, but how and at what scale?

ICE pepper sprayed 1 year old gil
ICE pepper-sprayed this 1-year-old girl.
Once at the hospital, the doctor had to call in a poison control specialist.
They had never seen anyone that young pepper sprayed.
Another horrific story.
More details below.
It’s not surge pricing. Instacart specifically denied that and there’s no indication that these prices are being set by supply/demand.
I know he pushed a Kerry Collins led Tennessee team as the best team in football. I remember At the time thinking, oh this guy is a moron.
Anybody who doesn't immediately understand the ethical problems with using AI to depict people doing things that they never did is unfit for society & needs some kind of retraining, forget about government.
It's so obvious that due to AI someone will be killed for something they never said or did.
My 14-year-old self would never have guessed that, in 50 years' time, all the world's music would be available at the click of a button, you'd navigate the globe by carrying a tiny computer around in your pocket, and the US President would post a video of himself shitting over American citizens.
we're nine months away from trump declaring owning a cybertruck a protected class
He’s an adult. He doesn’t need a reason to be anywhere.
Hoping he’s okay.
I enjoy reading Paris’s tech thoughts but this makes me doubt his judgement. Brussels airport is fine. Better than 90% of the old US of A’s.
More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...
@edgeofsports.bsky.social I'm a producer with More Perfect Union. I'm working on a piece that explores how US sports have become asset classes. do you have any interest in chatting?
Also - big fan of your cfb takes
I’m genuinely curious to the pod father’s reaction to this. He sits at this weird intersection of content and technology, at a platform that gave rise to a lot of the factors at play here.
Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.
All because dem donors were going insane because their kids were deciding genocide was bad
