Avoiding the heat wave in middle California, we drove back to the coast and stayed at a winery in Redway. We purchased some wine and enjoyed the tasting in exchange for a campsite.

We could see the scars from previous years forest fires. We also saw snow!
Lassen Peak is over 10,000 feet above sea level. The park has hot mud pots letting off steam. We did a thirty mile driving tour to see all the highlights.

We walked around a bit more before crossing the Bridge. We enjoyed some snacks in Chinatown.

We headed into San Francisco on Brian’s last day. Adam & Deb had never been so we showed them some of the tourist highlights. Brian caught an Uber ride to the airport.
Brian showed us around Point Reyes since he had been there a few times before with a friend. We had delicious sandwiches at the market! And went to the old saloon. It was a great walk on Drakes Beach but views of the lighthouse were limited due to fog.
Bodega Bay is just North of San Francisco. We stayed at the Westside Regional campground on the Bay. We drove to Point Reyes in the rig!
We hosted a get together at Cline Cellars in Sonoma with friends. Wonderful to see Clarissa & Rish with baby Jai!! 💕
Great to catch up with Cari, too.
And seeing Julia after almost 20 years was so fun!🤩

Wonderful dinner party in Corralitos!! Now that John is finished his ride across the country, we can slow down and enjoy places and friends.
John was thrilled to get on his bike with Johnny & Adam for a ride in Santa Cruz!
We picked up Brian at airport in the Minnie Winnie!! 🥰
Then we brought pizza to a twilight concert on the beach in Capitola. We met up with great friends Denise & John who live in the area! 😃
Raccoons 🦝 are cute until they get under the camper and try to take the dog food in storage. This bugger brought recruits in the night! Crazy!!
We took a hike up to the Balconies Cave. About six miles round trip and we were back for lunch. In the afternoon we napped and showered to relax and keep cool.
In Pinnacles National Park. We woke up early for a hike before it got too hot. Bella was not happy to stay home in air conditioning. 🤪
Coming back we took a tour on the 17 mile road at Pebble Beach. The fog rolled back in but we saw seals and the Lone Cypress. 😎
A hidden gem!
We took a drive down Hwy 1 and saw views of the Big Sur near Carmel. The fog was heavy and limited the view of Bixby Bridge.😕
A great day to have a picnic at Pfeiffer Beach, though!🤩

We have connected with Adam and Deb for the Summer to Remember tour 2025!! We have been friends and neighbors and travel companions for 30 years!! 😃
Elephant Seals come to this Big Sur beach every year. There is a big parking lot and boardwalk for the observers who stop.
We spent the day driving along Big Sur! The views were stunning when the fog burned off. It was fun to watch the elephant seals.
We are at San Simeon State Park. We can see the Ocean from the campground. Rangers were impressed with John’s ride and awarded him a junior ranger badge! 🤣
It’s great meeting people in the campground to share stories. We met a dad traveling with his kid’s waterpolo team and a woman from Ukraine.
