Do share! Part of From Page to Screen festival. @bridportarts.bsky.social
God, that’s gorgeous. Who’s the artist?
Likewise! 😊 Great company. What a wonderful day.
This might be the most Doctor Who that Doctor Who has ever Doctor Who’d.
@benaaronovitch.bsky.social Hi Ben, I write for Doctor Who Magazine. I’ve just sent you a DM on Instagram and Facebook. Would love to chat! Hope you don't mind me trying here too.
I’ve got a Transkriptor subscription for exactly this sort of thing – $19.99 a month for 2,400 minutes. Which I never use anywhere close to. So if you send me the podcast, I’m very happy to run it through Transkriptor and send you back the transcript.
Blimey. That’s phenomenal! Thank you, Scott.
Good fact! I’ll have that. 😅
Wonderful, thank you. ❤️ Those two Australian censors have a lot to answer for. 😅 They binged 11 (12?) DMP episodes in one sitting, then pulled up the ladder behind them!
According to Mr Bignell: bsky.app/profile/benj...
I’ll always hold out hope for “The Feast of Steven”.
Confirmed by wonderful @nothinglane.bsky.social on X/Twitter:
“When Australia rejected it, it effectively made it uneconomical to offer for sale anywhere else in the world, so no, it wasn't broadcast anywhere other than in the UK.”
Thanks all. 🙏
Australia rejected “The Daleks’ Master Plan” in the end, right? 🇦🇺 So did New Zealand 🇳🇿 and Sierra Leone…? 🇸🇱 Zambia 🇿🇲 was denied TX rights. But did Barbados 🇧🇧 ever air DMP? Or did anywhere else I’m missing?
Is it correct to say that neither “The Nightmare Begins” nor “Devil’s Planet” has been broadcast, ANYWHERE in the world, since their original UK transmission in November 1965? (CC: @nothinglane.bsky.social @tobyhadoke.bsky.social @themindrobber.bsky.social @missingepisodespod.bsky.social)
Actor and Film United
Peter Purves, actor, and star of both the recovered episodes of Doctor Who, posses with the original can in which the 16mm film was found, and Film is Fabulous! founder, John Franklin.
EXCLUSIVE First Look! “The Nightmare Begins” and “Devil’s Planet”. youtu.be/QvwUrJAuAHks...
“Oh, I gave up long ago.” Reminded of what Peter Purves said when I interviewed him for DWM last year about the chances of missing episodes being found. “I think the fans want ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’. Not a chance! I doubt it’ll EVER turn up.” 👀😅
Further information on the two recovered episodes of Doctor Who can be found on the Film is Fabulous! website:

Missing Doctor Who Recovered!
The Film is Fabulous! team are pleased to announce the recovery of two missing episodes of Doctor Who, from the serial entitled, ‘The Daleks’ Master Plan’:
The Nightmare Begins (Broadcast: 13th Nov 1965)
Devil’s Planet (Broadcast: 27th Nov 1965)
Having such a visceral, joyous reaction to the #DoctorWho lost episodes news. What a feeling.
There’s something atavistic, almost shamanistic, about the discovery of missing episodes. The realisation that you can suddenly look into the past – hear from the dead and the lost – sends a faint, primal shiver down the spine.
I KNOW RIGHT! 😆
Thrilling, right! 🔥
Haha!
About time we had some good news, isn’t it. 😊
I know right!!!!!!
