Listen to young people!
Yes! Please listen to young people!
My son (only just voting age!) is astonished at the gambling culture among his peers.
It’s inescapable.
It’s already ‘worse’.
Gambling is like a contagious infectious disease.
The gambling industry like an obnoxious mosquito.

We're asking a lot of our community sporting organisations to make moral decisions that prioritise health when they're so stretched financially. We need stronger support through government funding, regulation and education to reduce the reliance of harmful industry sponsorship!!
What do local sporting clubs really think about gambling sponsorship?
In our latest research study we talked to community sporting orgs in VIC and NSW to understand how they navigate the challenges of accepting or refusing gambling sponsorship.

The CDOH special issue at @healthpromint.bsky.social has just been launched!
The Editorial launching the series states that we must be led by the evidence on the risk to public health goals that engagement with harmful commercial actors poses!
academic.oup.com/heapro/artic...
And from me in particular - as so many of the papers in this special issue show, we need to make sure we have an intergenerational lens on the CDoH. We must do better to engage young people in the decisions that are made about their futures. 🙏
We hope you engage with the 19 papers that have been released today - and the papers that will be released over the next few weeks. We are incredibly grateful to our editorial team members, associate editors and peer reviewers! academic.oup.com/heapro/issue...
But we must also ask ourselves what is the future that we envisage for the CDoH field, and what role does this play in improving health and wellbeing for all? Some of these discussions are challenging but they are important as they will create a foundation of trustworthiness in the CDoH community.
