I love that it started as short films and ended up resulting in someone making a full feature length film about Steamed Hams.
I do chuckle when they block that but none of the other apps.
Sharing Davan's hopes for that dude's boyfriend. π¬
Same also goes for chubs and bears! So tired of getting sent slop by folks π
I've seen a few of these in DC. Tends to be snowbirds that own them from what I can tell.
Can there be one major bear event that doesn't use AI for their promo materials
We didn't deserve this day.
Small blonde dog with ears perked up at the idea of a treat as she rests on a mountain of blankets she has claimed as hers.
Pet tax paid for your taxes.
It warms my heart that y'all get so bothered by how much the userbase blocks all the dumb shit you add to this site and the people that defend it.
The block function is the only good thing about here.
Will more the pennants be made available? Some of us had work and couldn't attend Friday's event.
Account has 51k+ posts on here. Seems like that's all they do.
I legit feel like actual rail crossing barriers dropping for oversized vehicles is the only way to get them to stop. And someone will still try and get around them. Though I think they should be barred from driving at that point.
WMATA has decided prioritizing full automation and PSDs is a higher priority than the BLoop or other alternatives they looked at when the BLoop was initially considered. At this point, I don't know if we'll see any more major expansion of Metro in the next 20-30 years.
It frustrates me so much that many urban politicians are so eager to lock their cities in amber despite most having largely progressive constituents who desperately want to improve the cities they live in.
The problems with the DC Streetcar had more to do with it's poor connection to Union Station, being mixed with traffic most of the route, it's other terminus not really connecting to anything, and it largely replicating a more frequent bus service.
It being free was really the only reason I'd ride.
Look I won't join the church, but I'd offer up tithe for this.
Also to better answer what Metro means to me: it is a beautiful rail system that shows that we can build great things that both serve residents and still have them look monumental and provide a fantastic alternative to driving in the region.
My guess is they just assumed this would go in their favor and made no effort to prepare.

A 7000 series Metro train pulling into McPherson Square station on the opposite platform, casting a long shadow across coffer archways of the station.
A legacy Metro train arrives at the opposite platform of the upper level of L'Enfant Plaza station. Several riders wait for the next train on this side, with the unique to the station, round, illuminated station map centered beneath the intersecting coffer archways of the station
The station canopy of Innovation Center Metro station looms overhead from the empty platform as the sun sets beyond the station pedestrian bridges with clear skies above.
A 7000 series train arrives on the opposite platform of Clarendon station, casting a long shadow against the coffer vaulted ceiling dramatically lit by the center and recessed lighting of the station.
Visiting DC for my 1st time in college, Metro caught my interest, and from later visits, it was a big factor in making me want to move here. I even took on a photo project eventually to visit and photograph all 98 stations, successfully did so, including phase 2 of the SV Line and Potomac Yards.
Always makes me a bit sad when guys say that like it's a bad thing π
Even with it, I feel like people would still complain because Dulles is just a bigger airport that takes longer to get your gate at than National ever does.
National has long spoiled everyone in DC.
Moore has been a huge disappointment on the Red Line. I know Hogan is the biggest cause of the mess with it, but this should have been -the- transit priority along with opening the Purple Line.
My favorite tiny subway π₯Ί
Definitely appreciate that option, even if I hate that there's always a bit of fat tax (from the supplier, not you). A lot of shops just don't offer anything beyond what is considered the standard range, so kudos to you π₯°

Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
