The cyberattack on The British Library in October 2023 knocked out ebooks and almost ever other computer thing there for years.

Ebooks just came back. They were knocked out everywhere using the BL’s license (legal deposit libraries I think? More libraries?)

Distributed physical copies matter.

My course on Critical Data Exploration with Spreadsheets comes out this summer.

It answers some of the most frequent questions I get about ensuring your work is right, spotting errors, cleaning data, and showing your work in spreadsheets.

Every train, a note. A jazz combo played in real time by every active NYC subway train.

www.trainjazz.com

This train jazz website by Joshua Wolk, feeding off of live @mta.info data, is pretty neat.

Finally went to Bryant Park to see the woodcocks and it was so cute and wholesome. A huge crowd of people there to watch the lil floof, all chatting. A beautiful communal NY experience.

I didn't get to see it dance but it was a really lovely day-off activity

A green cubicle wall with two letterpress prints pinned to it. One is a trans gradient that says Infrastructure is something we owe to one another. The other is fiery and says in black Technology is the active human interface with the material world.

I'm always thinking about @halperta.bsky.social's lineage activity and ways we can set visible reminders at work.

I'm thrilled to have @skeuomorphpress.org and @wolfproofpress.com prints hanging in my cubicle. Love having the words of @megsmith.bsky.social and Le Guin on display with my books!

It could be a text analysis of some kind. Or something using the Google ngram viewer results for "Luddite"? Could even pick a few related terms and see how they compare and weave that in some way.
