Rocky joined our home at 6 months. I drove a couple hours, found the address, rang the bell, and waited. The owner came to the door, Rocky (Scott at the time) ran out, bit the tip of my shoe, and back into the house. It was love at first bite.

I did, these two have both passed away, now I have a male Scottie and Golden Retriever female.

I would say depends on personality. Sandy was super sweet and Charlie (puppy) was the dominant one from almost day 1. They never really fought and were pretty good buddies.
