And before that, due process for anyone the government claimed was an immigrant was illegally suspended over a year ago and there's been little fine to stop it…
People have been disappearing without a trace…
We are FAR closer to Iran than to any actual functioning democracy, and that's my point…

Why exactly do you think the US isn't near their level yet? Do you not realize that these kinds of things are like a light switch? When you push it far enough, it snaps forward…
We have officially labeled US Citizens that disagree with this admin terrorists… That suspends the right to due process…
I should also point out the fact that Iran in the 70's used to look much like the US, women in bikinis, sunbathing on their car hoods, etc…
And it changed to what it is today VERY quickly… It's happening in the US right now, including a lot of talk about how women shouldn't vote, work, or drive…
We aren't "on a fascist path" we're in the fascist neighborhood, near the end of the road, and we just passed the first Nazi banners…
You just aren't looking at the whole picture to see that we're 80-100% of the way there in each category of fascist control. The groundwork is long past finished…
The judiciary is corrupt.
Women are being arrested for murder because they had a miscarriage…
Parents can be charged with felonies for providing life saving medical care to their children…
The only difference is that the US system isn't fully in place, and it's more ambitious…
The US only appears to be democratic, it's functionally an oligarchy.
Speaking out was just criminalized by DoJ for being terrorism, paving the way to kill even more protestors.
Our civil rights are constantly being removed.
Hundreds of people were tortured and died in today's concentration camps.
They look nothing alike… The size is way too small and there is no white… This is about as far from the Nazi ones as you can go with red… The original one looked WAY closer…
Right, because nobody has EVER tried to get as close to crossing the line as possible without crossing it… 🙄
And I'm not saying it is a Nazi symbol, I'm saying it looks close enough to one that why would anyone want to wear it?
Frankly, in any environment… The stain on the red, white, and black motif, especially regarding armbands and banners, is eternal…
If it were a purple armband, and a different size, I would just think it was tacky… But that one was A CHOICE today and it still would have been really bad 20 years ago…
It's not the fact that it's "an armband" that's the issue… It's that it's VERY similar to a very specific type of armband…
It's naive to think this administration won't be far worse than the Iranian government if given the chance… Fascism doesn't come overnight, it slowly turns up the heat, in increments too small to notice, until we all boil alive…
Based on which metric? Because I'm pretty sure if the metric is people killed in the past year, the US is WAY past Iran…
I mean, we are talking about someone that doesn't know how grocery stores work and makes Lucille Bluth look like an economic genius:
JD may be personally worse, but he doesn't have the support that Trump has…
Best Star Trek captain. Wrong answer only.
A "straight" man that is obsessed with optimizing his appearance for other men not women, and disappointing as many women as possible in bed because, according to him, he doesn't last long in bed because he has not, and never will, care if they orgasm…
It's giving "trying to fuck the gay away…"
Fair point, Trump's gotta keep a good scapegoat around, and if he gets rid of the VP, his replacement won't have been there long enough to credibly take any blame when everything continues to fall apart…
Everything has to be in a balance to work, the problem is we suck at enforcing balance…
Yes, but you can say basically the same thing about any other economy… Money and power corrupt and concentrate each other no matter the economic system being used to do it… Any system with decision makers has this issue. The only thing that doesn't is a true democracy, but that has it's own issues…
I REALLY wish everyone used the system we use in Houston… Put a paper ballot in the machine, make your choices, it prints them legibly, you verify them and drop them in a secure scanner for counting. Easy to statistically validate and hand count. No confusion over bad pencil markings…
YUP!!! Because even if it's not a fair election, we need the poll numbers to prove it and get people to stop thinking that everyone else actually wants Trump… I've seen WAY too many people from both sides say he's what the majority want, when the reality was we just didn't show up at the polls…
Next guy to get fired? 🤔
"Um, acthually, we are because anyone the regime doesn't like, (women, non-Christians, anyone that's not white, gays & theys, etc.) isn't a *real* person, so we don't have to give them Liberty & Justice… Instead we give them Justice™ & Liberty™, Halliburton's patented war crime generators!" 🤬
It's one of the reasons we're here:
*Gestures broadly at the surrounding fascism…*
Make bail, then get convicted of 34 felonies but your only punishment is having a felony record…
I don't think it's the dark humor as a coping mechanism that is desensitizing people though, it's the constant stream of ever worsening horrors, and that's EXACTLY what they are supposed to do… It's basically fascism 101… The desensitizing would be happening regardless…
Oh we know… It's just too terrible to think our neighbors would think that way…
It's because it's inhabited by brown people that are Anti-Christians™… (AKA Muslims, whom Christo-Fascists think are worse than Satan himself… 🤬)
It's basically impossible to stay a Republican if you aren't bigoted…
Seattle cut a million tons of emissions just by letting people live closer together — no subsidies, no mandates.
San Diego's housing shortage pushes people further out, which means more driving and more emissions.
Building more homes is climate policy.

"We JusT nEeD bEtteR PubLiC trAnSpoRtaTiOn!"
This is why JUST expanding public transit won't work…Public policies prevent people from living close enough to work for public transit to be viable… Gotta fix that or people won't use the transit. They aren't commuting 4 hrs a day over driving 2…
Except Israel has ALWAYS been the aggressor, since long before 1947 when The UN agreed to be complicit in stealing Palestinian land… And let's not forget the fact that the land that Israel claims right to was, by their own account, stolen by Ancient Israel in the first place from many nations…
