We’re pleased to share the report and recommendations of our Elmbridge Climate Change Citizens’ Panel.
After 32 hours of deliberation, the Panel produced 18 recommendations on travel and transport, housing, green spaces, and more.

When asked about why she wanted to get involved, Delia had this to say:
“The assembly members worked hard to answer a vital question: how do we make sure local people aren’t shut out of decisions about climate and our future? I can’t wait to hear their answers. Please join me.”
Over the course of six meetings, the Assembly developed a set of recommendations and principles for good engagement.
This national online launch is your opportunity to hear more about the process, the principles, and recommendations the Assembly produced.
The Assembly brought together 42 randomly selected Cumbria residents to answer the question:
“Many people in Cumbria feel unheard and unable to influence those who make decisions on climate change action. What can be done about this?”

The aim of the panel was to take a different approach to discussing and dealing with issues associated with increased visitor pressures.
