Very young fig tree growing from a cutting in a large red pot.
Not a lot of new growth yet, but the baby fig tree's leaves are getting bigger and greener.

I've decided I won't cut decomposing leaves off of my lotus plant. They may not look "pretty", but they will release needed phosphorus back into the water.
Everything I put up on Wrizzit is free to read. There's one of the stories from my "Forest Tales" collection, but I'm really focusing on poetry there.

The day must have thought the answer to "slow start in a busy way" was to speed things up. That's not what I meant!
I won't lie. I'm talking about plants again.
Not just plants! But, yeah, there's plants.
What do I do when I'm not writing?

Cap’n Crunch was not actually a Captain and was at best a Lt Commander
It's still National Poetry Month. Great time to make a poet say, "Okay, technically, people do buy poetry now and then."
Me trying to be normal:
Misread the word "squad" as "squid". I'm kind of disappointed to find out it's not a social squid being developed. Wondering how many other types of squads would sound more exciting as a squid.
If you didn't read this when it came out, you should now!
If you did read it when it came out, you should read it again!
Slow start in a busy way today, but this time I know what day it is!
Which kind of means I got two Tuesdays this week. And now I have to call them Twosdays before someone else does.
I'll go ask far as saying Oswald shot Connally but not JFK, simply because I doubt he could make the shot.
When people tell you AI is the future, this is what is being done with it right here and now.

I could provide more context for this, but I like it the way I said it.
I don't know what was happening on land, but the oceans were WILD during the Miocene!
The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

I'm terrible at keeping track of days, but I usually at least know when it's Monday. Seems I'm just skipping it this week.
I just found out today isn't Tuesday. I don't know yet if that's a sign that the week will go fast for me, or that it'll drag on forever.
I won't lie. I'm talking about plants again.
Not just plants! But, yeah, there's plants.

Hey witches.
Hey scientists.
Hey artists.
Hey naturalists.
Hey writers and poets.
You’re my people and I appreciate you.
The poem flowers without meadow screenshot against a blue green and white Aurora Borealis in a starry sky. The text of the poem is as follows: in the galactic dark of blooming the halo of old constellations stains the hollow shells of blossoms spilling open into gold-dosed light seeds become stars like the wasp devoured in the beauty of the fig
So excited and grateful to share that my poem from Eye to the Telescope’s Plants issue is nominated for an Aurora Award! Wela’lioq to all for your kind consideration 💙🌸
There are some options for favorite character in here.
- Forest Witch
- Necromancer
- Werewolf
- Knight (maybe)
- Not a Rabbit
- Girl Who Recognizes Not a Rabbit
Necromancer's mother is not a legit choice. Not unless you can explain.
Golden King is his own favorite. That's a problem.
We missed the "if you can get half of it by this date..." point, but the bill still has to be paid.
I had a Ghost meme I was going to send, but now I can't find it. So I will tell you that I look forward to seeing your posts here because I just like knowing you exist. And that sounds weird, so I don't say it. But it seems maybe you need it today.
I want to see how "accidental reawakening of dead immortals" works, because that sounds like a helluva reunion!
Something that continues to frustrate me about this widespread anti-trans narrative is how – in order to transition 20+ years ago – you were REQUIRED to be diagnosed as mentally ill. It was the only way to receive approval to medically transition
Mandated therapy for a year or more
Four leaves of a lotus plant at the surface of the water of a 2 gallon tank. The newest leaf is the the bottom right corner and hasn't fully unrolled yet, but it's mostly open.
New leaf in the corner!
I need to decide how to handle decaying leaves. Some people say cut them off. Other people say leave them alone and let them become nutrients.
I would prefer the latter if it actually works instead of becoming a nasty, gelatinous mess.
My dad tried hard to prepare me for that without making it sound like he didn't believe in me. I really appreciate that now. It would have been so easy for it to accidentally come across as "Don't do it because you'll fail", but he didn't let that happen.
I admit I got really excited for a second when I saw a royalty report email. I didn't think there was anything to report!
Yeah, that was it. Just confirming there was nothing to report.
But I know myself. I'll get excited again next time.
