Bluesky offers bookmarks built-in to the service now, so SkyMarks is redundant.
Glad I could tide people over for a while.
Happy to say that SkyMarks isn't needed anymore.
Thanks to those of you who followed, downloaded and reposted.

Does anyone have a feature request for SkyMarks?
SkyMarks 0.10 has been out for a few weeks now and no one has reported any issues. The app does pretty much what I intended for it to do when I started.
If no one else needs more from it, then development will probably slow down from here out.
If you want to be sure, try opening SkyMarks with another device with the same Apple ID. If the other device shows your bookmarks, then you know they’re synched and will restore after a reinstall.
SkyMarks synchs bookmarks using iCloud. So it should restore all your bookmarks shortly after you reinstall.
It took longer than I had hoped, but version 0.10 of SkyMarks is out today.
The main change is a more balanced set of tag colors.
Version 0.10 also lets you bookmark a post that’s marked as private, but you have to give your username and password in this case.

Coming soon hopefully, the ability to bookmark a private post (assuming that your account can view it)
Ok, I’m tooting my own horn, but SkyMarks is imho also a pretty good app for Bluesky

SkyMarks 0.9 is out! Mac users will see lots of little improvements. iOS users will see just one, but everyone should see better responsiveness, which was greatly needed.

Version 0.8 of SkyMarks is out.
You’ve had tags, but now you get multiple tags. Filter by quotes AND jokes AND comics, or filter by quotes OR jokes OR comics.
Some other changes, but that’s the main one.

There's been no answer to this question in over 2 weeks, so I'm going to assume that folks are using the latest versions. So any release going forward may break for folks using iOS 17 or macOS 14.
Please let me know if this could be a problem for you.
…and the Mac version is out as well. 🎉
No, here's the quote:
"The app screenshots to be displayed on the App Store include references to the price of the app or the service it provides, which is not considered an appropriate part of these metadata items."
So, the word "free"
I've just released a maintenance update for Skymarks for iOS. Version 0.7.1 is smarter about avatars and adds a single menu item.
The Mac version is still in app review, but will hopefully be released soon.

What about this image would cause SkyMarks 0.7.1 Mac to be rejected by #appstoreconnect?

SkyMarks 0.7 is out!
I’m so excited about this one. When I first decided to make SkyMarks, I wanted to be able to tag bookmarks. I’ve been using tags myself the last couple weeks and they’ve been so useful. Glad to give this to the community.

Another day, another attempt to release. I keep finding things that need to be tweaked. At least I got some Mac screenshots out of my work today.
Thanks to @megmp7.bsky.social for posting such a beautiful picture.

a screenshot of SkyMarks 0.7 showing only bookmarks tagged with "Quoites". In the toolbar, a green button labeled "Quotes" shows a dark green bookmark icon (it was gray and said "Any Tags" in previous screenshots). Two bookmarks are shown: one by JRR Tolkien and one by Groucho Marx.

I really wanted to be releasing version 0.7 today, but the process of making decent screen shots is taking longer than anticipated.

Screenshot of the welcome screen of SkyMarks, version 0.7 on an iPhone. It lists the steps you take to bookmark a Bluesky post, just like the first one, but uses a more hierarchical text layout with one more text style. Also, the search bar is gone because there are no bookmarks yet and the button in the top left is just an icon instead of text.
Version 0.7 is about ready to go live, but not before I've cleaned up the Welcome Screen / Help View.
@ScaledMetric is SO USEFUL for this kind of thing
Happy to take any feedback on which is better and why, but I'm much happier with the second one myself.

A question:
If you're using Skymarks, what OS are you using? For now, SkyMarks runs on macOS back to 14.6 and iOS back to 17.6.
But I could make it work much faster if I started requiring macOS 15 and iOS 18.
If you need SkyMarks to support an earlier OS, please let me know.
Thanks
There was an annoying bug in SkyMarks for iOS going back idk how long where you would try to edit a note and the text field would be obscured by chrome above the keyboard.
Version 0.6.3 finally fixes this.
Sorry for taking so long to get to this.

Thanks for the kind words.
If there's something you'd like added to SkyMarks, be sure to ask. There's an email button in the app, or you can just ask here or in DMs.
Really, any feedback is welcome. Feature requests, UX issues, aesthetic improvements, anything.
Version 0.6.1 of SkyMarks is out..
On iPhone, it’s just a (very much needed) performance update.
On Mac, you get some menu items too.

Yesterday, I released SkyMarks for Mac. It does everything that SkyMarks for iOS does and it synchs with your iOS devices over iCloud.
Check it out at apps.apple.com/us/app/skyma...
SkyMarks is a little app that you can use to bookmark Bluesky posts. Bookmark any post from the share menu on iOS and the bookmark appears in SkyMarks on any of your iOS devices.
Version 0.6 is available on the App Store at apps.apple.com/us/app/skyma...
free to use, no in-app purchases
The todo list is down to one page!
Sadly, animated gifs will be on it for a while longer.
