There is a class angle here too, says Dr Shamim Miah. Working class history is more widely neglected in a history that tends to focus on kings, queens and other elites, he says.
“Change has to come from the bottom up,”says Shamim Miah - adding that what is taught in schools will only change when there’s sufficient pressure to make that happen.
