Does not generate enough power, but home rooftop solar certainly does.

Electric Car Reliability 2026: Do EVs Last Longer Than Petrol? | The Electric Car Scheme Discover how reliable electric cars are in 2026. EV batteries retain 80-90% capacity after 8-10 years. Learn why EVs through salary sacrifice schemes last longer than petrol cars.

"Electric car powertrains contain as few as 20 moving parts compared to 2,000+ in petrol engines, resulting in 40% lower maintenance costs and significantly fewer mechanical failures over the vehicle's lifetime."

Rewiring global energy security In today’s geopolitical landscape, the most credible path to national, economic, and energy security is rapid electrification powered by renewables and smart grids, argues Bruce Douglas, CEO of the Gl...

"The rationale for renewables has broadened. Military interventions and resource wars continue across the world, natural gas prices remain one disruption away from another spike, (and) supply chains are being weaponized...."

Two major benefits:
1-Lower total cost of ownership over 5 years than fossil fuel cars (now even lower with Trump's war).
2-Tells your friends, family and neighbors that you are committed to fighting Climate Change and enhances their chances of supporting major climate actions and regulation.

$25,000 buys plenty of used EVs: Here are some options Is $20,000–$25,000 a sweet spot for secondhand electric cars? We think so.

“Whether you’re considering an electric vehicle because of gas prices or climate change, there has probably never been a better time to buy a used EV.”

The trend of annual increases in GHG emissions needs to be dramatically reversed or we will push the AMOC shutdown tipping point even closer.

Given that there appears to be no slow down in GHG pollution on the horizon, you may be correct.

This is a HUGE CRISIS (the AMOC is largest heat pump on the planet)! Prof Rahmstorf, Potsdam Institute said: “I now am increasingly worried that we may well pass the AMOC shutdown tipping point, where it becomes inevitable, in the middle of this century.”

I’ve taken both the Trump and Biden administrations to court and won, because I don’t care who occupies the White House. If you’re harming Nevadans, I’m not backing down.

Aaron, I'm a supporter, but I gotta ask, are you driving an EV around the state to campaign?

6 days ago 3 0 0 0

Does not count, you should be driving an EV around the state.

If you want votes of people concerned about the Climate Crisis, the number one issue in the world, you're going to have to walk the walk or in this case drive the EV.

I think you are correct. 100% of my charging is from rooftop solar so I take 26 tons off my EV total

Although generating electricity can be dirty, it still generates less CO2 than the operational emissions of a gas car. However, when you power an EV with renewable energy, like solar (including rooftop solar) or wind power, upstream emissions diminish by up to 26tCO2e over the life of the vehicle.

Public transit is best, but not all public transit is equal. Electric buses and trains are the best public transit, but the adoption of electric buses is limited at best.
While not perfect, EVs and PHEV are better than fossil fuel over the life of the vehicle.

A Shift to EVs Would Lower the Price of Gasoline, Study Finds

"High (gas) prices are spurring greater interest in EVs, a trend seen after Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine rattled energy markets. We are in the middle of the 2nd energy shock in the 2020s. It will flow into people’s decisions on what energy-hungry devices they buy.”
