Glanced up at the TV during commercial and went "Oh, who is that hot guy?" and grabbed the remote to unmute...and it was a little behind-the-scenes segment with Musetti...lol. The players always look a bit different out of context. π #AusOpen

No. 3 Coco Gauff gets past No. 19 seed Karolina Muchova 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals of the #AusOpen.
Itβs the 10th major quarterfinal that sheβs reached, third in a row at the Australian Open.
Will face the winner of the match between No. 8 Andreeva and No. 12 Svitolina. #tennis
Appreciate you, Coco. Now I cn go stare at the back of my eyelids. #AO
These watching-until-4am nights definitely take their toll, sob...
Are there people who are consistently diehard tennis fans? Or does everyone go through a lull as the generations shift? It used to be easier for me to say who I *didn't* like on tour, I had so many faves.
Now...feels like I have to rebuild my roster and things are gonna really suck for a while..π
Jannik Sinner is already an all-time great and he is asterisk-free as far as I'm concerned. But he's also benefitted from two incredible Grand Slam strokes of luck recently: Grigor Dmitrov's torn pectoral muscle when up 2 sets, and this incredibly timed heat stoppage. A rich man winning the lottery.
JAYSUS STANISLAS WAWRINKA that's his full name #AO
π
If it were up to the AO crowd this year, Stan would win this whole damn tournament. *sob*
Commentator speculates Stan's glute is failing him... @tennisinsideout.bsky.social your moment to do some voodoo, or something
LOL, omg, get the Star Trek Enterprise to beam me down under! π

I mean...there's no other way to interpret this than the dude has been caught straight up lying. The body language is practically screaming it.
Pretty sure it was season 1! π
If Juan Martin del Potro doesnβt make it into the Hall of Fame, there arenβt going to be a lot of male candidates for the next 15 years. Once The Big Three, Murray and Wawrinka are in, it will be women only.
Today I saw a link to rumpled storage boxes, "3 white and 1 pink" π and apparently another post unveiling her new Porsche. π
π If it's COVID, ask if you can still see family Thursday--they keep changing the guidelines and it's not always clear. π
A tweet from @skullmandible that says "most cutting thing you can say is "who's this clown?" Because it implies they're a) a clown and b) not even one of the better-known clowns"
I go back to this insult because it remains great
UNC's Reese Brantmeier smiles as she sits on a tennis court. Headline: She Sued the NCAA. Then Won a College Tennis Championship.
From @TheAthletic: Reese Brantmeier couldnβt help but have a laugh at the irony of her winning the NCAA womenβs tennis singles championship on Sunday. nyti.ms/4oqUNQc
Don't miss out on the used perfume samples! π
Recent bout of COVID knocked me flat for 3 days, was moderately improved the next 2, and then I finally started feeling more normal. The tiredness lingered. If it's COVID you should hopefully be feeling better soon! β€οΈ
I'm glad I was able to see you! (On a personal note, I loved the line about driving a car until you're on a first-name basis with the local tow-truck driver...the first *new* car I ever bought was a 2003 Altima...and I'm still driving it. Luckily I'm married to a mechanic! π)
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
OMG huzzzzah!!!
I feel bad for our school but this is tremendous content
That initially feels like an impediment to getting tennis discourse going on here, at least with the absence of players who are very RT-able. But plenty of player accounts on Twitter are basic PR junk that don't add much value, so maybe it's not that important?
Well, at least there's been some action in the sports world. Everything takes time, I guess, and I think a lot more people moved to Bluesky for political reasons and so politics/culture areas are more populated.
I made a list for tennis player accounts and am quickly realizing there don't seem to be any players on here...hah. I think the biggest social hub for them is Insta?
Learned quite a bit about the Tennis HOF here
Just dipped into WP's Global Summit online and caught some of @michellesingletary.bsky.social 's segment... one of the best speakers I've seen on practical financial advice. Wise, funny, and engaging. Will definitely be checking out more of her work!
