In this match, the player on the right decided to make the other one chase them, and then pulled an Immelman Maneuver at the end to loop around for a shot. Each plane can take 2 damage, flipping over to show it. The plane on the left has less maneuverability, but has a tail gunner.

Tested this 18-card aerial combat game yesterday. double-ended cards, pick one each turn with simultaneous reveal. Damage is taken if in range and opponents firing arc, with an initiative system to handle if both players get to shoot. Its working pretty well.

While the Mirror Agents campaign wasn't a success, we keep going. I have three prototypes ready to take to a Playtesting event today. An 18-card aerial dog-fighting game. A Gin-based war game, and a dexterity-based dice game. I'll post pictures of each in action later.

Its like they don't want to admit that the full time jobs offered don't pay enough in salary or benifits to make them worth it to many folks of all generations these days, You can make more doing multiple part time then you can one fulltime. Though you also kill yourself in the process.

Sadly, this happens sometimes. We obviously didn't do a good enough job showing people why the game is fun and why they should back, plus we know money is tight for a lot of folks right now. So we will just have to figure out how to connect people with the game and try again in the future.

I always try to start as simply as possible and then build up, but then almost always end up still having to strip things back out I realize whats simple and clear to me is over complicated or fiddly to players. Its one reason we need to playtest, not just the game, but the rulebook as well.

He has to be. But then again, my stepson knows him as an actor that he thinks might have been a rapper back in the day, but he doesn't know any of his songs. So the irony is also a generational thing.

Coming soon: Mirror Agents Two-player hidden-movement spy game where both players hunt and evade, tracking clues, collecting intel, and completing secret missions

Just 24 hours until my game launches on Kickstarter. To say I am excited is an understatement. Two-player dual hidden-movement, in a world of art deco and noir, as rival spy masters hunt each other and try to stop each other from reaching their secret objectives.

This GIF moves a little fast, but it shows one reason we want to work with real artists rather then AI slop. From the rough sketch to line render, to the finished colors, little details shift and improve. And the final product is so much better for it.

Was at a local con the other weekend and had several people come up to tell us they love my silly game about fighting over Brazilian meats. It feels so weird and wonderful everytime.

Because AI naturally averages things out from its millions of samples, its writing is also naturally boring. It has no life, no flavor. Even when people try to have it written like a famous author, you just get the average of that author's lowest quality.

I never had that thing, but I had seperate accessories for all of that. I think my speaker plugged into the bottom and clamped on.

At one point, I had accessories that provided a light, a magnifying screen, speakers, a Game Genie, and a cover that turned the direction pad into a little joystick. I wish I could find pictures, but fully kitted out, it was this massive, heavy monstrosity that I had to sit on a table to play.

I love Bubba Ho-Tep. Such an under rated and ridiculous movie. Heard good things about Project Hail Mary and One Battle After Another. Haven't head of The Secret Agent.

That looks amazing. The board game is one of those great simple to play games I've used as a gateway for several people. That looks like it's going to result in some very fancy-looking kingdoms.

Coming soon: Mirror Agents A Hidden Movement Game of Espionage

We are one week out from the launch of the Kickstarter for my next game, Mirror Agents. Building the page behind the scenes has been so cool, but also stressful. Its looking great, and I can't wait for this thing to go live.

My stepson has started talking about moving out. His concept of how much things cost is insane. Like he thinks he can feed himself on 200 a month. I don't think that's been possible since the 90s.

Target audience is key. People need to realize that not all games are for all people, just like not all movies are for all people. So much AAA stuff now is getting so dumbed down because they are trying to be everything for everyone while avoiding all emotional and mental friction.

So very close to launching Mirror Agents on Kickstarter. I started the design journey on this one in 2017, and its gone thorugh alot of changes and had periods of sitting in the closet while i worked on other things, but it was worth it for whats shaping up to be a beautiful release.

Very cool, are you self-publishing this one?

Designers should do their own research to know if their game is a good fit for you, but it helps if that information is easy to find.

I self publish so only ever pitched a few games. Need to know where in the process the game is. Detailed information on the types of games you'll consider, and on when to expect contact after a pitch submission. Maybe even some details on the types of games you definately won't consider.

Recovering from TokenCon, was a great Con as always. I ran the Game Jam on Saturday night and saw some really cool ideas from folks. Also got in more playtests of the Mirror Agents rulebook as I fine-tune that before our Kickstarter launch in two weeks.

Spent yesterday working my booth, the evening doing playtesting of Mirror Agents. Then I came up with a new idea for a crazy 18-card game I'm calling "Feline Wrestling Federation". Created the first ugly prototype last night before bed, hope to test it today. The inspiration now demands attention.

Prepping for my TokenCon, my local convention. Over the last few years, I've convinced them to give me control of an entire section of the convention with 10 tables for local designers to showcase their new releases and/or playtest their current designs. It's one of my favorite times of the year.

Agreed, he tends to lean heavily into all the worst tropes in his stuff. Natives are all either savages or noble savages. They appeal to people who have a very specific idea of what American history is and who the heroes were.

I feel like this meme becomes more and more true with every decision being made by most companies regarding AI.
