the reason achievements sit in this corner of hatred and enthralment is that they are, fundamentally, a violation of The Boundary. they are the platform intruding into the game and the game bleeding into the platform. even if you don't understand the nature of the artifice, your mind rejects them

right. the game will continue to be playable. what i mean is, will they continue to develop it, add content, market it, do big splashy updates, etc. even if it's not "live service", a multiplayer game still needs tending and won't have the long tail a solo game would
