Crossword Setters!
I’m writing a blog post on the ways in which setters choose their pseudonym(s)
I know some from my own circle, and have found some lovely stories in the public domain* but am also looking for any that I’ve missed so far
DM me with the story behind your name(s) please!
Thanks!

I made the alphabet cryptic just for fun. (If you’re referring to my other tweet, those students are in my Language Arts (English) class. I can justify it: cryptics are definitely a ‘language art’)
Me? In a terrible state (5)
😁
Here is the document used in our 8th-grade class today that resulted in ~90% of students (working with partners) completing a full Quick cryptic before leaving the classroom. 😎
This was a good (essential) learning experience. I’d do many things differently next time, including avoiding an outer-Nina type grid, which really rachets up the difficulty.
I predict you’ll love it.
After thoroughly enjoying Bard's alphabet jigsaw cryptic in Issue 2 of Unch, I've decided to revise and update an older puzzle into an alphabet cryptic. Looking forward to setting more A-Z puzzles. Thanks @petermoorefuller.bsky.social and @unchcrosswords.com

Extra good with nice headphones

Way to go, man. Very nice
Thanks for watching. Your comments will be inspiring, especially for a 10-grader.
As today’s clue was not gonna fly in our 8th-grade classroom, had to dip into the archives and use this one (it was a hit) 😎
Fun stuff so far. Will return to the north half later today.
Thanks 😎
I sing like a dead frog, but she and her sister are naturals (taking after their mom I think).
Thanks very much, Chris 👋
Check out my kid 😃
I think @agentivy.bsky.social will enjoy this

"Cryptic grammar is one of the most difficult elements of crosswords to get your head around, both as a setter and as a solver." ✅
The sample clue is: "Old bloke eats beef (4)"
Thanks for the article, @amoebacrosswords.bsky.social
Thank you and yes, well put 🤝
Thanks to a recent comment in my feed, I just got around to checking this puzzle out. Nice tributes, Sisyphus! Fun stuff. In my early days (about a month into setting), I attempted to tribute other setters (indicated in the S.I.): mycrossword.co.uk/quick/217 Likely mistake-ridden, but so what 🤷♂️😁
