Traffic in Douglas Village is at breaking point.
I’ve brought a motion to Cork City Council to push for safer streets, better flow, and real priority for buses under BusConnects Cork. We need solutions that work for residents, students, and commuters now. Let’s get Douglas moving again.

How else is a central bank supposed to set monetary policy other than to consider the long term economic effects of current economic issues?
But he was laid up with bone spurs at the time.

From over here it’s really remarkable that Starmer could be more unpopular than Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss, and Sunak. The UK is ungovernable.
Can you imagine the headline: 'Attempted murder arrest after knife hits pedestrian on Argyll Street'? No, of course you can't. Because no sub would ever write that!!
Cork good value for their win today. Definitely showed they’re capable of losing another All Ireland final this year. #SpeirGorm #GAA #Hurling
If you want to know how messed up the US is, just consider that this “could” cost him his job.
This is good company to be part of in current global context. Hopefully EU Commission will have a damascene moment in relation to Israel.
EU Climate Commissioner Wopke Hoekstra is being refreshingly blunt: there is “no workaround” for Europe’s energy price crisis.
Hoekstra’s message? The only way out is through: more electrification, more solar, more wind, more storage, more grid interconnection — and all of it faster.
Great article @hannahdaly.ie
Non economists may find this hard to believe, but one red flag for economists is when people start using the Laffer curve to give themselves a veneer of intellectual seriousness
This sounds like a great idea but they might want to do up the Gaelic Grounds first www.rte.ie/sport/hurlin...
The 21st century will be won by the states that, in a developed world where skilled young people are increasingly in short supply, are able to overcome their own xenophobia to welcome the future
Great line in Miriam Lord’s article in IT today - quoting a govt backbencher. The Healy Raes said they’d stick by the government through thick and thin, but thick and thin have gone now. #SpeirGorm
Of course. He’s the king of the deal. He’s going to get the Obama deal and the straits that were open before he started will be open again.
Opening the strait by blockading it.
A brilliant strike #COYGIG
And the sea we do have has no wind.
Norway, which has loads of oil, still generates close to 100% of it's leccy from renewables.
I don’t think most were. But lots could be captured through these protests. All the far right need is an issue to jump on - like the immigration protests last year. I understand why Labour are voting as they are - the risk of not doing so too high. They need clear water with the protests though.
It is simply insulting that the Healy Raes, Richard O’Donoghue, Micheál Collins and the Independent Ireland to say the farmers, contractors, hauliers, and other protestors are the “real people of Ireland”. What are the rest of us? Don’t we count? Are we less Irish? #SpeirGorm
Irish reliance on fossil fuels for electricity leading to higher prices. And we seem to moving further away from getting renewables online. This is one of the greatest failures of Irish policy making. #SpeirGorm www.rte.ie/news/busines...
I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧵
David Lammy. Great to catch up with my friend JD Vance today in DC following his talks in Pakistan. It's vital that the cewsedire continues and we get shipping flowing freely again through the Straits of Hormuz. We continue to work together towards a just and lasting piece in Ukraine.
"My friend."
This is how our government greets those accused of war crimes.
This is not diplomacy. It's debasement.
You mean there’s somewhere wetter than Limerick?
