"They killed my wife. I don't know what to do," the woman says through sobs in the footage, with a damaged SUV visible in the distance behind her. "We stopped to videotape, and they shot her in the head," the woman cries.
"We have a six-year-old at school," she says, almost unable to breathe, as a chaotic scene in which federal officers prevented at least one doctor who was on the scene from assisting the shot victim unfolds. "We're new here," the distraught woman says in despair.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today.

This could be you.

it’s infuriating, especially when you’re stuck behind them for miles on long, twisty roads with no passing zones, which rural new england is full of

not sure what’s worse: left lane putters who aren’t passing anyone and cause massive traffic delays and unsafe passing or the idiots who drive 40 mph regardless of the posted speed limit; 55 mph zone? 40. 25 mph school zone? 40. 30 mph downtown? 40.

i agree that her statement was a bit ambiguous, but i interpreted “[Dartmouth] will always defend our fierce independence” and “we will never compromise our academic freedom and ability to govern ourselves” as a no to government overreach

somewhat surprising given how poorly she handled the protest/encampment on the green last year

Trump’s NSPM-7 Labels Common Beliefs As Terrorism “Indicators” New order targets “anti-Christian,” “anti-American,” and “anti-capitalism” opinions

🚨 New directive NSPM-7 targets "anti-capitalism," “anti-Christian,” and “anti-American" opinions as indicators of extremist violence, authorizing an army of 4,000 counter-terrorism officers to prevent crimes that haven't happened:

i don’t have sweaty, smelly feet either, but slipping on a clean pair of socks always feels refreshing

i’ve noticed a few stressed trees already changing color and losing leaves here in the connecticut river valley (claremont, nh) over the past week or so; hopefully, it’s just an isolated incident and not a precursor of a lackluster fall

i hope i die before my mother and sister, more so than ever. i don’t want to endure the pain or have to go through with planning another funeral and dealing with all the nightmares associated with it

I've been watching HBO's series Chernobyl and the decisionmaking parallels are striking. Plans that would save lives are canceled because they conflict with ideology. Bureaucrats can learn from history, but first they need to want to learn.

this looks so good. my mother makes an incredible apple chocolate chip bundt cake topped with powdered sugar—it’s one of my favorites 🤤

NH is a beautiful state with horrible politicians and neighbors who vote for them. VT, while far from perfect, is significantly better; unfortunately for me, my family settled on the wrong side of the border by about a mile. i would have loved to go to UVM but i couldn’t afford it as a NH resident

yep, sounds familiar! tuition and housing took precedence for me. i did do some grocery shopping to save a little money, but groceries on the NH seacoast were expensive & my mini fridge only held so much. no student should have to agonize over how they’re going to afford tuition, housing, or meals

oh, and i also owe ~$60k for student loans despite having graduated from an in-state community college before transferring to UNH with a couple scholarships i earned for my academic performance. NH sucks

i’m a NH native and UNH alum who could only afford a swipe plan for the dining halls that allowed me ~4 swipes per week. on days i went, i ate as much as food as i could and smuggled fruit, cookies, and oyster crackers back to my dorm so i wouldn’t go to bed hungry. i also ordered a lot of pizzas
