Europe’s highest court has ruled Hungary’s anti LGBTI law violates EU law and values.
Péter Magyar’s pro EU stance now faces a clear test: commit to withdrawing the law and reversing the Pride ban.
No action means no credibility.

But will he retire in Mar-a-Lago or move straight into Trump's ass?
I wish I could celebrate his legacy, but his recent actions... don't let the door hit you on the way out and take an iPhone Air as a parting gift before it ends up in a landfill in Arizona 🖕

Random fact: Star Wars was released in France only one month after the last time a person was executed by guillotine.
For everyone talking about the Pope, as if he were a superhero. With one Papal Bull [official announcement] he could force Catholic preschools to be Christian. He won’t though, because the Church is good at talking but not acting. And then they wonder why more leave.
An article in the Times today by Kathleen Stock in which she claims, incorrectly, that ‘when the gay rights cause first got going, the ideal was toleration’.
To correct the record:
The gay rights movement I was a part of in the 1980s and 90s was not aiming for ‘toleration’.
Mere acceptance was not enough.
How would that help the isolated queer kid?
No. We wanted that child to know they would be loved and celebrated just as they were.
We were both speechless for a moment, then tried our hardest to educate without being TOO condescending.
As the 40th anniversary approaches and a lot of you rewatch the obvious I'm reminded when a then coworker told me and another colleague she's watching this great show on HBO, explained what it was and then proceeded to ask "Could you imagine if something like that really happened?"
—possible to acknowledge that & even acknowledge that you have some sort of awe for someone who, unlike you, was able to turn a mid bedtime story into an enduring franchise.
Neither stops you from also saying you’re over it now because the accidental billionaire became the villain of her own story
What is so tremendously disappointing about Kezia’s interview is that she’s obviously one of those who can’t let go of that nostalgia because decades ago these books (and I suspect more so the movies JKR is now actively trying to erase with her HBO nonsense).
And don’t get me wrong, it is—

Either she or Stonewall as a whole are not going to last. With this view the “Some people are…” shirts are going to the back of closet because who wants to be associated with “what more could we want?” ‘activism’
Well I wasted my fucking time being vice chair of Stonewall’s Trans Advisory Group, didn’t I?
If you want me I’ll be on an Algarve beach.
Completely agree. A lot of the writing decisions were … questionable to say the least but them on screen together is - for US soaps - still the gold standard.
Ah, the memories of “it’s been XXX days since their last kiss” and then when it finally happened again IT happened and became the greatest thing in soap.
Less than three hours after the polls closed, Viktor Orban conceded that he lost. Five years after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he still falsely claims that he won.

Without stating your age, post your favorite film released the year you turned 18.
Wow, you mean CEOs can't just pack their businesses up and move to Cowdung, AR? 1% taxes and twelve year olds working in coal mines can't replace ports, skilled labor, and culture? Ya don't say.
And I remember when almost a year leading up to its premiere all we heard is that it is a "gay(-er) SEX AND THE CITY" or "this era's QAF", but you only had to have seen WEEKEND to know that this couldn't possibly be true.
I am surprised we didn't get the "OMG, there's this OTHER show on HBO MAX" during or after Heated Rivalry, because it happened before. This show was really a victim of the worst promotion possible coupled with people wanting a fantasy.
Too many IRL Patrick's hated that the show held up a mirror.
24 year old is first victim of Senegal's arbitrary anti-gay law, condemned to 6 years in prison.

This was originally a billed by time rather than by data used service - dial up via mobile - so unless you had some special plan there was no bigger fear in mobile usage than accidentally hitting START and being connected.
GPRS, a dedicated data service, was introduced around 2001.
😂😂
To be fair, in most places it was so cost prohibitive you only did this when you absolutely had to and of course most of us had desktop PCs at home, but yes...
Also, for many it began as a monochromatic experience.
…
It‘s really good. I *think* US rights have been bought, but I can‘t find any release info.
And more so if you go all in on promoting that you‘re showing it rather than going by the old style „if we film it they will come“.

It‘s happening slowly but surely, even though you would have thought the success of THAT show would have indicated to streamers that well told queer stories find an audience.
The Flemish sleeper hit OH, OTTO! is finally making its international debut next week on French CANAL+.
