price of thighs is equal to or only slightly less than breast meat for at least a few years

they are in fact the same price per pound at costco

i know this because i am a person who only goes out to eat 2-4x/month & otherwise cooks all meals from “fresh, whole foods”

Rep. Adelita Grijalva: "What specific diseases do you believe deserve less medical research?"

RFK: "DEI."

Grijalva: "Do you have a specific program, a specific disease that deserves less funding?"

RFK: "DEI research has never any diseases. It's never produced any new drugs."

The ad features Mike Tyson calling Americans “obese, fudgy people” & ends with the text “Processed Food Kills, Eat Real Food.”

Irvine rambles about how great it was this ad was during the Super Bowl bc ya know, everyone watches it.

He says RFK Jr. should “slap it [MAHA] in the face” of Americans.

The pair don’t offer any specific advice for average American families looking to eat healthier and save money, just vague urges to make “smart purchases.”

But at the end of the episode, they praise one another for all the impact they’ve had & Irvine applauds RFK Jr.’s infamous MAHA Super Bowl ad.

Yeah, Irvine's quote on this doesn't quite make sense. First he talks about how chicken wings used to be cheap, how they used to be cat and dog food, in fact. Then he wonders why Americans aren't eating more dark meat, like he forgot what he just said about how it's more expensive than before.

"Americans will find the outer edges of their grocery stores replete with whole fruits & vegetables…These foods are covered by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program [Snap] in every state," the HHS spokesperson continued.

Of course, she neglected to mention how Trump has cut SNAP benefits.

When I reached out to HHS for comment, their press secretary said the idea that Trump era tariffs and deportation related labor shortages have driven up the price of food is “ridiculous.”

She went on to say that Americans should be shopping with “savvy and intentionality.”

During the show, RFK Jr. & celebrity chef Robert Irvine wonder why Americans aren’t eating more dark meat chicken to address cost concerns.

Irvine also talks abt how he negotiates food prices with manufacturers & finds ways to reduce costs at scale, as though anyone can apply these strategies.

RFK Jr and podcast guest suggest food is affordable in the US – despite rising costs Health secretary and chef Robert Irvine claim Americans could eat healthier and more cheaply if they shopped better

If you think food has gotten more expensive, RFK Jr. thinks that’s on you.

Misty Brown said that she first tried natural kratom because she was chasing a high. But it didn't make her feel high at all. Instead, she said it made her lose the desire to cause her dealers. "I came into my recovery completely by accident," she said.

Steven told me that one major difference he noticed between natural kratom and prescription opioids is that the opioids gave him a "warm, fuzzy feeling," a high. But kratom just makes him able to function.

This is something I heard from folks who had become addicted to opioids recreationally, too.

PNAS Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), a peer reviewed journal of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) - an authoritative source of high-impact, original research that broadly spans...

This is in no way a criticism of the researchers, but it's pretty bleak that we have to say "falling MMR vaccination rates could cost the US $1.5 billion a year by 2030"

Like "literal babies will die from an easily preventable disease" isn't sufficiently important? 🧪

Kratom activates the adrenergic receptors & serotonin receptors, too.

Pharmacologist Walter Prozialeck theorized that this makes kratom act like “2 drugs at once,”

A partial opioid and something akin to an SNRI.

This may be why people also report less euphoria and more energy w kratom v opioids.

He doesn’t want to become dependent, because it is true kratom can be quite habit-forming.

But multiple experts I spoke with dispute the characterization of natural kratom as an opioid.

That’s because kratom’s main alkaloid only binds partially with opioid receptors, and not only opioid receptors.

His heart condition made withdrawal symptoms especially unbearable. He said he would have done anything to stop it. Kratom was the thing that helped.

He now takes kratom alone to manage his pain. And he’s very careful about it, takes just enough to be able to function, not to eliminate pain.

People who rely on kratom to manage pain, opioid withdrawal and other types of addiction recovery are understandably concerned about the bans.

Steven, who is on permanent disability due to a painful heart condition, turned to kratom when his 8 year oxycodone prescription was suddenly cut off.
