‘A week after tearing my ACL, I was googling how to run a business’ – Rugby sevens star Anna McGann on the end of her Olympic dream and a new chapter Forty-eight hours before Ireland rugby sevens player Anna McGann launched her first company, she was flying home from South Africa, where Ireland had played in the HSBC SVNS Cape Town tournament.

This article on Irish Rubgy sevens star Anna McCann who set up her business would be great to use in a #LCBusiness or #TYEnterprise classroom. #Entrepreneur #Resilience #IdeaGeneration

What will Norma Foley's new English course look like? Norma Foley has decided, without any consultation, that creative writing and the comparative will be examined via the AAC (project) during...

How will the structure of my 5th and 6th year classes change if Norma Foley's new English Leaving Cert cones in?
And how will this impact on my students' education?
I wrote a blog about these questions.

This is definitely one to share with the fifth and sixth years. Lots of food for thought.

In almost 40 years of teaching, I have yet to find a teacher who prepares Leaving Cert students by ‘rote learning’ There are grounds to criticise the English exam, but it can only be successfully tackled with critical thinking

Following a recent article about the Leaving Certificate, worth restating that -

👉spreading assessment will increase, not mitigate, stress.
👉None of the proposals are for 'continuous assessment'.
👉English Leaving Cert is not a test of rote learning.

Hi Julian - would love to be added please. Thank you

I would politely suggest that officialdom in Irish Education (particularly the support services!) migrate their material and updates from X to here. It is so unfair that teachers are forced to engage with that platform in an effort to be informed. #edchatie
