Argonaut Books are a truly fab bookshop with a lovely cafe and beautifully curated stock. Please support them if you can, this feels like an intentional move from Waterstones to push a competitor out of business.
@bookbugs.bsky.social and @portalbookshop.bsky.social can you share this please?

Santa has taken up residence at Bookbugs for his annual visit. This year's read is @thebookerprizes.bsky.social winner "Orbital" by Samantha Harvey which is proving very helpful for route planning.

Salute to all the illustrators out there, old and new, who show up to the desk everyday to face the blank sheet.๐ฎโ๐จ

Not ashamed to say Bum or Face was a bestseller for a long time here. Delighted they did a sequel!
It's #LongJohn weather in Norwich. So of course, this earworm got stuck in my head and there's only 1 way to clear an earworm... lean in!
Never forget: READING FOR PLEASURE has the biggest positive impact of any factor on children's life chances. So never stop sharing books with kids. Never stop reading to them, and helping them to read. Never stop changing lives. #literacy #kidlit #books
Thank you for this x
We've also begun a starter pack for writers of funny middle grade or chapter books. These books bring joy.
It's a work in progress so shout if we haven't added you yet!

Having just worked with our local Council on a traveller pack of books I was delighted to be introduced to this gem at the recent Irish Publishers Conference in Dublin from @littleislandbooks.bsky.social and Skein Press. Finally got time to read it. Beautiful from Chrissy Donoghue & Monika Mitkute
When I'm in charge, the music gets better (in my opinion). Disney playlist removed in favour of 90s classics. What could possibly go wrong?
In a shocking plot twist... the Saturday boy didn't work Saturday but has a surprise Sunday in the shop. So for all the new followers (that's everyone) here we are. 5 rooms of booky joy. Follow us for more twists and turns in the life of an indie Bookshop. โค๏ธ๐๐๐
I know Argonaut Books in Edinburgh host a ton of bookclubs. I can't think of any online ones specifically. I'm a member of "The Bookload" on facebook but I don't think they meet regularly
It is in person, yes. every month, 2nd Thursday at 7:30pm - 9pm at the shop in Norwich. Always a jolly friendly group. We'd love to have you!
Yes, this! I very quickly wound my car window up listening to "Want" from Gillian Anderson
Still learning... here are the others...
Most of our posts will be from me, Dan, the bookshop Saturday boy. During the week my main job let's me travel the country and world visiting Publishers and bookshops. Expect bookshop photo spam from me. #NoApologies Here are a few from this month. It's been a good month! #Frankfurt #Oxford #Dublin
A fabulous book club tonight. 23 of us chatting about shop friend Polly Crosby's "A House of Fever" giving it a massive overall score. Next up, Curtis Sittenfeld with "Romantic Comedy"
