You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

Imagine if we had a Culture Secretary who could stand up for and shout about the importance of the creative industries. Such a shame no such position or person exists…

My godfather was convinced I’d be a silver alien because my mum used a microwave when pregnant with me.
I was born on a full moon.
Might go with one of those being the reason I’m neurodivergent.
About as much science in that as the paracetamol nonsense.

Love love love that Labour has been all ‘it must be a woman’ about their deputy leader, but any sniff of a leadership challenge and its right back to ‘only this white man can save the party’. And when I say love, I mean am utterly exhausted. (And very much not a Labour voter right now).

people will tell you they don't understand gender fluidity then look right at a ship called the Edmund Fitzgerald and call it "her" without missing a beat

Pretty much every trans person I know in real life & on here has said where Streeting can shove his “olive branch” & explained why the “care” he’s championing is tantamount to conversion therapy. I think I’ll listen to them over centrist commentators who think this is Streeting’s redemption arc.

Gordon Ramsey: I ordered steak tartare and you've brought me an omelette?
waiter: yeah, chef's a minotaur, he doesn't like doing steak
GR: jesus christ, can I speak with him?
[waiter starts to gather up his ball of string and disappears into the catacombs]
GR: *whispers* fuck me

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13

"Falkner has, in the course of her term of five years, never attended a minuted meeting with a transgender person
in attendance"

I didn't know that. She clearly has a SERIOUS issue against trans people.

This, from the Quakers, is a pretty good example of how to resist pressure from bigot lobbying groups. Effectively “we legally can allow trans people to use the loo, we morally should, and we tried it and nothing bad happened”

Members of my family were tortured and killed in the Holocaust because countries like Britain said it wasn't their problem. Everyone said never again. And here we are. It's sickening beyond belief.

Being a white guy is hard. Sometimes I have intense feelings about a movie and I have to lie down until the urge to start a podcast goes away.

if I ever go properly "screaming about nothing in particular in the street" mad it will be due to having spent too much time having read about the opinions of men who have absolutely never cared about women's rights for one moment in their lives but decided to pretend just for the sake of racism

Corbyn is doing to the trans community what he does best - avoiding confrontation with his bigoted pals. It’s the same shit he pulled with the Jewish community. Nothing overt just - avoidance. Whether it’s prejudice or cowardice is irrelevant. He’s not and has never been the answer.

My mum has had life long problems with her ears/hearing because of measles, being born before the vaccine. She’s one of the ‘lucky’ ones that she’s alive and the damage wasn’t more severe. Furious that idiots have got us here. Thankful to have been born when vaccines existed.
