The idea JK Rowling is has a valid right to talk the way she does about trans people, which encourages dehumanisation, and encourages a narrative of women as victims and trans as victimisers leaves trans people are they are left to be thrown on the fire of social hatred and alienation
Generation communication. That sense of "we" know best goes both ways- old and young, yet this book made me realise the focus on victimhood can be a trap and that conversation becomes circular when the focus on the problems offers little to break the cycle or others where they are to work with them.
Ironic in discussing the metaphor burning of women and generations, the way some sees themselves as victims yet are okay with the possibility another vulnerable group could be thrown on the fire instead highlighted an issue of being narrow focused and an issue of generations around
As someone who is left wing and listened to this book, hearing others arguments helps you understand why they are wrong. I found her ideas of the treatment and way generations of feminism evolve and burn the prior one compelling and her support of transphobic justification abhorrent. 1/2
