Odette smiles because she is actually enjoying the affection that Ruby is giving her and because of that reason Odette has closed her eyes and just enjoys the moment of affection.

“We definitely have to stop by the pond with the ducks and frogs, it’ll be a beautiful end to our evening walk.”

“You have to make mistakes so you can learn Ruby and from the looks of things you have learned your lesson so please stop being so harsh on yourself, okay?”

Odette smiles at Ruby and then she leans in before lovingly presses a kiss on Ruby’s lips before caressing Ruby’s lower back “I love you.”

“Only ten minutes babe but if you feel refreshed then that is okay too.” Odette is helping Ruby sit up before offering Ruby a glass of water.

“You know that you can go back to sleep if you want to. I’ll even wake you up in a certain amount of time if that’s what you would like me to do babe.”

Odette nods her head to Ruby’s question but she also exhales softly “Actually yes that does help a lot because I would never want you keeping that on your mind.”

Odette smiles at Ruby and takes her hand “And how did you feel after you told your dad? I don’t mean in guilt but in other ways.”

“That sounds like a great idea baby, take a power nap and I will wake you up in twenty minutes.” Odette smiles and watches as Ruby falls asleep on her shoulder.

“Enjoy your nap baby.” Odette is smiling and listens to the soft sounds of Ruby sleeping which brings Odette happiness for a while.

“I know you didn’t and yes it has been one thing after the other and I’m sorry for how I reacted I think I am just worried about there being a divide in your family dynamic.”

Odette presses a kiss on Ruby’s forehead after sitting down and Odette softly sighs “Are you going to be okay baby?”

“It’s okay. Why don’t we just go to bed and get some rest? We can do the other thing on another day and I’m happy to just hold you until you fall asleep.”

Odette turns on her heals and carries Ruby back towards their bedroom “You wouldn’t get to enjoy it as much as me and that wouldn’t be fair.”

Odette is shocked by Ruby’s words and also feels a little disappointed in her and then Odette sighs before sitting down beside Ruby.

“It isn’t Violet or your mom’s fault and they do have a lot to talk about but what you said about Violet just then was unfair and you should apologise to Violet.”

“Of course babe, it will be my pleasure, plus you look more beautiful in my arms than you already are.” Odette picks up Ruby carefully and starts carrying her to to the bathroom.

“You know that there is never going to be a time that I grow tired of hearing your laugh, it’s perfect just like you.”

Odette shakes her head no towards Ruby and then exhales softly because Odette can see it from all perspectives and then Odette smiles small at Ruby.

“No. I wouldn’t be happy about it but I also think that it isn’t for me to comment on, especially because it doesn’t truly involve me in any way.”

“Of course I will come and join you, babe.” Odette is caressing Ruby’s hand and gently guides Ruby to the bathroom but also places a loving kiss on Ruby’s knuckles along the way.

“You know that I am with you all the way baby no matter what. How about I carry you into the bathroom this time?”

“I understand.” Odette said softly and then Odette just walks over to Ruby and takes Ruby into her arms before pressing a kiss on Ruby’s forehead.

“They’ll be okay eventually, it’s normal and healthy for parents and children to occasionally fight, they’ll be best friends again soon I promise.”

“Would you like me to join you or would you like some alone time baby?” Odette smiles small at Ruby so that Ruby knows either answer will be okay.

“I can stay right here and start making our bedroom cozy, dark and comfortable for our movie night after dinner, whichever one you prefer baby.”

Odette is caressing Ruby’s hair and places a gentle kiss on Ruby’s forehead but at the same time Odette gives Ruby a small smile.

“Do you need to get away for a while? I can tell that this is stressing you out a lot and I just wonder if you need a break away from all this obviously not forever.”

“A walk sounds perfect and since it is a date maybe I should make myself look a little more presentable. What do you say?” Odette smiles and leans over before pressing a kiss on Ruby’s lips.

“And you are right. I can’t remember the last time that we went on a nice date and had alone time.”

“It’s not really about how I feel right now. You know I just want to support you the best that I can.” Odette gently holds Ruby’s hand and smiles at her

“I will also never expect you to put me above your family either. I know it’s probably obvious and I don’t have to tell you that but you know.”

“Don’t say that babe please don’t say that because that is definitely not something you will ever be, okay? I love you so much.”

Odette smiles at Ruby and then he presses a loving kiss on Ruby’s forehead and then on her lips “Hey, I love you so much and I always will that is my promise to you.”

Odette shakes her head and then Odette presses a kiss on Ruby’s head before she smiles and then Odette is now gently caressing Ruby’s hand

“It’s not a bad thing babe, actually it is natural to be worried about people that you love. You should never feel like you have anything to apologise for.”

Odette starts massaging Ruby’s head after turning off all lights and drawing the curtains. Odette is also nodding her head and smiles.

“I’m going to worry about them baby especially when the concern of everything that is happening is also starting to affect your mental wellbeing babe.”

Odette nods her head understanding Ruby and lays back down on the bed with Ruby but also connects their hands and gently caresses Ruby’s knuckles.

“Okay baby but just know that I am here for you and even if you don’t want to tell your parents or sister anything you can talk to me about this.”

“Of course baby, tell me what you want to do and I’ll be right there at your side the entire time.” Odette then gently presses loving and comforting kisses on Ruby’s hands.

“Violet is important to you and by association she is also important to me because of that. She’ll be okay baby. I promise.”

Odette lifts her head up so that her gaze has now met Ruby and Odette is now just gently caressing Ruby’s face hoping at the least it’ll give Ruby some comfort

“Your feelings are valid, baby, but I’m really worried about you not sleeping. Maybe we can start by talking with your family together?”

Odette places gently kisses on Ruby’s shoulder and then shakes her head before smiling warmly at Ruby before placing more kisses on Ruby’s shoulder.

“It’s not selfish baby. You have the right to feel that way but just know that you will always have me to talk to whenever you need to, okay?.”

Odette immediately cuddles into Ruby, hiding her face into Ruby’s boobs because she missed Ruby but doesn’t like that the daylight is bothering her.

“You didn’t come to bed with me last night baby. Were you mad at me?” Odette’s question is muffled because her face is still buried in Ruby’s boobs.

“I understand Ruby, well I’m really trying to understand because I’ve never had a family but I can see yours is very important to you.”

Odette is now caressing Ruby’s hand hoping that it’ll further help Ruby in staying grounded “But for you I am trying to understand to the best of my ability.”

Odette takes a breath, patiently waiting for Ruby’s return as promised but at the same time Odette has began reading a book with a movie on as background noise.

Odette showered and climbed back into bed, watching the movie until finally Odette slowly and peacefully fell asleep, softly snoring.

“I’m not going to tell you that, not because I don’t want too, it’s actually because I don’t want you forcing yourself to stay awake for pleasure, especially if you do come home tired.”

Odette presses a kiss on Ruby’s forehead “But I promise if you feel awake later then I’ll tell you everything”

Odette hugs Ruby back and then nods her head before offering Ruby the softest and warmest smile. Odette is looking into Ruby’s eyes after the hug.

“I understand and yes, I’ll stay here but if I am needed in an emergency please don’t hesitate and please just call out for me, I’ll come running.”

Odette leans up and gently kisses Ruby on her lips a few times and caresses Ruby’s face gently. Odette then also smiles warmly

“Get through this rendering detail crap baby and when you come home I’ll help you really relax in a way that I know you will really love. Do you like the sound of that?”

“Do you need me to be there with you? I can be but if you’d like your own space then I can just stay here and be here to comfort you if you need it.”

Odette hasn’t stopped caressing Ruby’s leg because she knows that the caressing is helping Ruby feel a little calm if not completely but enough.
