In investigating Nike’s claims, reporter @robwdavis.bsky.social had a breakthrough when he received payroll information for a Cambodian factory.
Quick calculations showed that just 1% of workers made 1.9x the minimum wage, the amount that Nike said was typical.
It's like a giant game of chicken - as the world further militarises and plays "strongman".
And then you add other figures like Netanyahu, Putin, Xi, Jong un, Modi etc in the mix - all "faux macho" figures playing off nationalism, and its a ticking time bomb.
While two juvenile influential men are beefing with each other in the USA (Musk and Trump), their decision making means people are dying around the world from their aid cuts or their complicity. #auspol
I think what should should send chills is how ridiculous two of the world's most "powerful" and influential men are.
And how easily behaviour from insecure men like this, can set off actual global wars, impact the welfare of so many etc at the whim of their thinking #auspol

Problem over there is that even if you block an account, they can still see your content.
That's why its unsafe because you literally could have a case of stalkers or bad actors still having full visibility.
