For my PhD coursework this semester, I'm focusing a lot on public writing. Part of my graded portfolio will be a regular log of public writing in a journal format. The best way I know how to stay accountable and stay on top of assignments is to...well, make it public.

It’s academic baby’s first attempt at reading Can the Subaltern Speak by G Spivak and I may need to YouTube the hell out of this to figure out what she’s talking about 🤦🏽‍♀️

I’m reading new-to-me theory paired with a romance novel every week. It’s incredible, but also my friends are already exhausted bc I want to talk about these moments of inspiration all the damn time, and they have no idea what I’m talking about.

I spent years in corporate DEI work but what’s hard for me to come to terms with now as a PhD student in English & Soc Justice is that in praxis there is a binary response to a theoretical problem but that is so far from the truth. Some of these problems do not and may not have a “right” solution.😭
