Two brindle dogs on a brown couch. The smaller of the two is on the back of the couch with the larger dog is in the normal sitting spot.

10 years after leaving my PhD program before even getting through candidacy and I'm about to start a master's program in a new discipline and all those feelings of failure even though it was the right decision and I have a good life now are flooding back.

A case could be made, although I don't know how well I agree with it, that having the LLMs is more useful than the blind copying and pasting scientists were doing before and could help automatically add testing and CI where none would exist. Again, I agree with the underlying issue but it's not new.

The interesting use of technical debt. That is more for issues of software that is going to grow in user size and features. Majority of code written by scientist is analyst code, not infrastructure for complex interconnected projects. I am not convinced any more debt and and less coverage happens.

I don't disagree and have helped friends still in academia but my point being this isn't a problem caused by LLMs. Mostly it is due to low expectations, low skills, low time, and low pay. Infrastructure isn't publishable. I was even in a computer systems lab and that was true.

Tbf science code rarely has ever had much of these. I didn't learn good coding practices until I left my doctorate program.

Dugongs are closer related to manatees than elephants although that is the next closest relative out of that clade.

Are they banning all kids with divorced parents too? Pretty sure that is against Catholic church teachings...

Had nose work class with the two puppers that tonight and I'm really starting to see the new girl as her own dog instead of just a comparison with my older girl. We got Willow two months and a few days ago. I'm glad we are connecting more.

Ultimately Silicon Valley’s fatal flaw is that it has a glut of losers in a loser echo chamber and they have no idea why nobody else thinks their ideas are good and fun

There was a pretty quick intense storm last night and the dogs were pretty nervous. Sadie had me sit on the couch with her and we weren't sure how the new dog would react. She ran from the couch to her crate, then back to the couch with me, then into Sadie's crate, then upstairs to the night crate!

The sun moves where it sets throughout the year. You wouldn't be able to get this same photo months apart.

Sadie occasionally gives in and lets Willow snuggle with her for the 10 minutes Willow lays down. #dogsofbluesky

Cybertrucks hit the road in 2023... Not exactly a decade ago... And it was a very slow roll out so only a few that early. Does everyone have amnesia?

Accessible?!?! It was always sold at a luxury price and when it released Musk was already talking about the woke mind virus and was buying twitter so he could spout antisemitism to his heart's desire and make sure everyone on Twitter saw his posts.
