I know you know this better than most but what kills me is that even if you don't care about children's well-being, the economics alone argue in favour of properly supported inclusive education as an investment. www.oecd.org/content/dam/...

They don't want to understand it. I have a high school friend who has drunk the Kool-aid on this. I sent her Trevor Tombe's explainer and pointed out it's based on federal income tax that everyone pays. She said "BS" I asked which part is BS. No answer.
Husband, after hanging out with divorced friend: "All these online dating apps just seem like LinkedIn, but for sex."
Everyone should be checking their Google Scholar profile regularly for AI slop. I found a citation in my profile for an "article" supposedly in ResearchGate (link didn't work) for an article I never wrote. I was listed with 3 of my real-life coauthors and some ppl I don't know. Abstract obviously AI

If you need any proof just how powerful reading is, just look how hard the UCP is doing their very best to kill the library system in Alberta. #ableg
The problem is, he tried to give them his opinion as a qualified expert. Now, if we could find a wellness grifter to say the same thing, it would stand a much better chance of making it into policy.

I read somewhere that this is one of Musk's favourite movies. I'm torn on this film because it's so prescient but the premise of why we ended up here is that the smart people weren't reproducing enough and "inferior" people were having too many kids, which lets the billionaire class off the hook.
This has been a core conservative belief for decades. Ralph Klein said the same thing about people on AISH
There are probably more "invisible"disabilities than visible ones that impede someone's ability to work. Conditions I can think of among my own acquaintance: long COVID, brain injury, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, epilepsy, severe mental illness.
This is nothing new for conservatives. Ralph Klein accused AISH recipients of "not looking severely disabled" and referred to everyone else as "severely normal".

These dumbasses couldn't even run a Kiwanis chapter, let alone a country
A graphic showing Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta, radio show: Your Province, Your Premier. Saturdays at 10AM on 880 CHED. Phone numbers for calling: Calgary: 403-974-8255. Edmonton: 780-496-0063. Alberta: 1-800-563-7770.
Friendly reminder:
Every other Saturday I take to the airwaves to gaslight Albertans with conservative lies and disinformation.
Give me a call and tell me how much you support me!
NOTE: Have a conservative-friendly question ready to get past my call screeners!

But they'll vote for it again, and again, and again. Like, she doesn't even need to do this
This story is a microcosm of what the UCP has become under Premier Danielle Smith's regime. @matthewblack.ca deserves the public's thanks for pursuing records that the UCP govt had absolutely no legal reason to withhold. Evidence of Smith's growing authoritarianism is on full display here.
It took 10 months and 5 inquiries, but ... newly released open-answer responses to the province's Alberta Next survey show widespread frustration with the process, with many calling it biased, one-sided, and lacking options to say “no”

Ope!
"Gerrymandering" is an American term, named for a governor surnamed Gerry who first engaged in it. What should we call the Alberta version?

I just read his tweet in Marlon Brando's voice in my head, and that's how I'm going to read them all now.
Sadly I don't think we can count on conservative voters to oppose their party on this, and the party doesn't care what everyone else thinks. Public protest might need to be loud, disruptive and accompanied by legal action
They're mad that places like MNP Centre in Calgary are building universal locker rooms with private changing stalls into their renovations. Also, universities put in gender neutral bathrooms with private stalls and it's a huge upgrade.

Shaun Fluker predicted this on @ablawg.bsky.social, a must-read on the electoral commission report. A reminder that democratic rights under s 3 of the Charter are not subject to the notwithstanding clause. This is one instance where the UCP cannot try to avoid the courts.

Right-wing parties, realizing they can't win as much as they want to fair and square, are happy to take the assist. Easy to blame the Russians, but some of our own politicians are the bigger problem.
When one side realized it has a hard time winning democratically and is happy to take the assist.
When your official opposition is asking ordinary people to write strongly worded letters, instead of articulating how he will opposed this... 🤬😱
Buck-a-beer because he cares about the little guy, but eff you if you don't want to get ripped off buying actual groceries.
