Even though I cycle almost every day as my mouse of transport, the slight upturn in the weather with some lovely sunshine really makes me miss going for 'a cycle'. I don't do cold well so a leisure ride when it's freezing just isn't for me. Roll on spring.
Bionic Sally is back in the game
Kiddie biscuit time
Out with the pup. There's snow, frost and ice everywhere. There's also a bloke out washing his car on his driveway.
You must really hate your life if that's what a Sunday morning in winter means to you.
Pic of the pup for good vibes!
Today will be spent fixing a new bionics kit to Sally. An Xmas pressie from my youngest after I put mine on her bike last year so she could use it to commute to work. Thinking of switching the tyres to a nice gravel style as well for a bit of comfort.
Cups that don't allow the dunking of a full standard sized digestive biscuit should be banned from sale. I don't care how funny the novelty message printed on the side is, if I can't get my digestive in, I'm not interested.
Nougats and oysters are a Scottish/West coast staple of ice cream shops and vans. Growing up as a kid you won a watch if you were allowed a nougat from the van instead of just a cone. Lots of folk buy them from the shops just to eat like a biscuit or cake as well. Shocking they are gone.
Disaster!
The world without a double nougat will be a very sad place to be.

That is stunning
Cold and windy dog walk with added hairy coo's at Gleniffer Braes today. Sadly the view was hampered by the mist over the city.
Long overdue jockey wheel change....
First listen to the new St Etienne album and it's a tad underwhelming. They are always very mellow and chilled but usually there's a couple of tracks you can slap into your playlists.

So the bargain 99p cycle computer from eBay is that old that the latest Sigma app doesn't support it. So I am now patiently going through old versions to get the latest over that still does. On a more positive note the GPS tracking is up to scratch so it will do a job.
The price of replacement jockey wheels for low end derailleur is ridiculous. Daylight robbery when two plastic wheels without bearings cost over half the price of a full new unit.
Was nothing worse than spending hours typing in a listing from a magazine to get nothing back in return.
Today's cycle maintenance was a nice new chain and cassette for Sally.
Avalanche brakes swapped from cantilever to V. Only decision now is if I leave it as a 3X5 or swap out the drivetrain.
Thanks. I have been happy enough with my polar watch up until now but I do want a bit of navigation and I really don't like a full size phone clogging up the cockpit.
Moving close enough to home to commute by bike was the first step. Then once my passion for cycling was reignited my car dependence slowly dissipated away until the associated costs became pointless.
In my drift more and more to becoming a 'roadie' I have purchased an old GPS cycle computer. Totally not needed but at a winning bid of 99p I can't go wrong even if it's garbage!

Play time.
V brakes purchased for the old Avalanche. That's tomorrow's job sorted.
