Trump is the wild card insofar as he is insane. He is a dementia addled man who has never had a conscience or empathy and I expect his vitriol, rage and bile will only grow more pronounced. It is a blessing and a curse that the greatest threat to our democracy has manifested in his shambling husk.

China I think recognizes that its ascension is being facilitated by Trump’s idiocy and Putin’s constipation in Ukraine. Taiwan can wait until the US retreats into itself and Russia is broken after Putin’s death. I expect they will be quiet and reasonable to show stability and reliability.

I am not overly scared of Russia because it is clear their military power is not able to threaten far afield, and I also question their nuclear capabilities after so many years of corruption and graft.

Their power has been mostly internet bound, undermining democracies and radicalizing the right.
