OTOH: there is speculation--my thanks to Phil Plait and his SciAm column--upon the POSSIBLE lunar impact upon the Moon in 2032 by asteroid 2024 YR4. One guess is that that 500-meter object would create an impact flash brighter than a Full Moon.
This would make this object big enough to be tracked by observatories looking for near-Earth objects. Of course that system is IMperfect so they may have missed this one.
The white feature to the upper right of this impact is Copernicus Crater which is 93 km in diameter (though mostly lost within that white splotch). This object upon impact appears to be perhaps 1/5th the diameter of Copernicus so let's lowball it to be about 15 km (so NOT manmade).
