It's worse than I thought.

I'm discovering now, after avoiding spoilers and discussions about it, that there's a Very Weird political tug-of-war over Pragmata on The Other Site. And I truly could not fathom being this miserable and obnoxious about it.

I always like to ID voice actors before looking it up online, so the frustration I felt trying to figure out why I recognized Hugh's voice in Pragmata was killing me.

I should've known from the jump. It's David Menkin, who voiced my guy Preston Marlowe in Battlefield: Bad Company. Fun link.

Initial impressions: I'm less than a couple hours into it but I'm enjoying Pragmata so far!

The real-time puzzle/third-person shooting stuff is a novel idea that seems to work well. The first tutorial boss does a good job cementing its potential early on.

Looking forward to playing more.

Weirdly cool for Pragmata to drop just days after the Artemis II mission finished up.

the marathon soundtrack is just so fucking good. i am picking up the vinyl day one, whenever it drops.

The world is an infinitely better place with Hayley Williams in it.

You can be efficient and get it within 100 hours. But if you're like me, trying to make sense of things early on (ie not efficient), then I hit it around the 200 hour mark.

I wasn't doing many of the primary faction contracts early on, so XP was left on the table.

Marathon has this new feature where you can choose to "stay together" with a group of randoms after a run.

So far, that's resulted in awkward group ups I didn't want any part in. This should absolutely be a mutual consent thing vs. a one-sided someone decides to join on you thing.

I can appreciate a good one-shot. But then you get one so good, people want it woven into the canon mainline somehow lol

I cannot stress enough how Ratchet's journey to pursue the Galactic Rangers inspired mine on a personal level. As a longtime Ratchet & Clank fan, I wanted to be an Insomniac since childhood, but the roadblocks along the way made it a difficult path to follow.

This game told me to keep going.
