On one hand, I think getting players 12 levels of XP worth into XP debt right at the beginning of the game is a bit much.
On the other hand...

Today I learned that is possible to go into XP debt in this game.
I didn't build it as such, but it makes perfect sense with the way it's set up.
Also I never knew how horrible some of these fights could get, holy hell.
Live now with a playthrough of JRPG game. Come and watch as I cook two Rabuekis and one Gnife Gnome into a Slime-Turning item, or something like that.

going live in a few minutes!
People make fun of Lance Stroll, but at least he's a professional driver. Gabe Newell's kid is of the same category as a 50 year old guy who has several corruption charges against him.
Every game developer on Steam gives 30% of their earnings away so that Gabe Newell's Son can pursue his dream of being a sub-par racecar driver.
hi, I try my best not be a reply clown under posts about my games, but I'm very sorry about the motion sickness you've experienced and if you have the energy, I'd appreciate if you could send me some more information as to what caused it?
My DMs should be open, but email works as well.
realized that making a small site for this awful hobby of mine could be a fine excuse to experiment with strawberry starter...
beginning of the World Endurance Championship season means that I'm once again contemplating making a place where I can throw in all of my awful thoughts about this awful sport.
Tomorrow (Sat, April 18th) at around 8 pm CEST I'm going to stream an entire playthrough of JRPG game and @evegoldenwoods.bsky.social has graciously agreed to go along for the ride.
Come over and watch as I explain *everything* that this game is doing (it's a lot!).

Come hang out! I will be making my best effort to be a useful rubber duck and ask interesting questions
My goal for the Stream is to turn the game's second Boss into a Slime while using only the tools that the game gives. No sneakily giving myself abilities via code or anything.
I'm going to stuff Monsters in a pot and cook them with math!

Another benefit is that I can now actually see videos that have been uploaded yesterday, without scrolling.
I really don't understand why every platform on the internet wants you to actually see less of the stuff that you're interested in.
screenshot from my youtube subscriptions page with the actual video titles and channels, as well as the right sidebar being blanked off. The important part here is that instead of having a grid of oversized video thumbnails that only fits around 6 videos on the screen. Only the video titles and the channel are visible, meaning that the subscription page now fits something like 21 videos on one screen.
Played around with ublock filters and managed to get rid of all video thumbnails on my subscription page.
No more giant distracting faces for me.
Nothing beats the excitement of writing a shopping list, forgetting to take it with you when you go to the store and then managing to get everything you wrote down despite not having any notes.
considering a naming convention for my future games, where the game's main title is in German, but it also has an English subtitle that's a direct translation of the German title.
The count of almost finished Tabletop Games that I have laying around has now gone up to three, by the way.
We have:
Skeleton Ball Game
Car RPG
and new as of today:
Tower what changes you
Having a notebook AND the tendency to leave ideas in various states of completion means that sometimes you leave through your old notes and discover that you have an almost finished Tabletop game in there that you just need to type out.
same.
had a job as a pirate ship ride operator. what can this tell us about game design, torture and alienation. anything at all? glitchout.blog/2026/04/16/r...
imagine letting something called "Claude" do your work and think it's going to end well for you.
If you've read any of my blogs about Game Design and are wondering "now what might this look in a game" this prototype of my JRPG project might give you an idea:

First of all, I don't really understand what compels people to turn someone's personal blog into social media's main character for a day, but also from looking at some of the examples:
None of them are wrong, you all just have bad taste.
A post which says "Heartbreaking: JRPG corridor has gone on for far longer than expected and you are starting to suspect that you actually took the correct path by accident"

I made a new Steam page for The House Before - a game where you play as a house filled with weird creatures.
No release date yet, but it will definitely be out sometime in 2026.
Reposts and Wishlists very appreciated!
