Guessing that's a Warhammer thing.
Wonder if they are named after Snottingham (which Nottingham was in the Domesday Book) "the homestead of Snot's people".

The Sneinton dragon
Horses
Although, do we actually have any statues of a specific real life Women who weren't the Queen?
In addition to Robin Hood and his merry men we've got dogs, horses, Warhammer characters, and dragons...
Stoffel Vandoorne's championship winning Gen3 (or a show car thereof) at Mercedes Benz World
It's no Gen 2 - that will take some beating - but it still looks good.
Not been a fan of the Gen 3, but gotta admit it looks better IRL than on the TV for some reason.
The Gen Beta that Jake Hughes drove to the indoor land speed record in 2023.
Would be really neat if, as a last hurrah for the ExCeL, if the Gen 4 car could take the indoor land speed record off the Gen3 Beta, even better if they could do it on Saturday during the downtime.
And there was me thinking Formula 1 was mearly a Formula E feeder series...
Drop kerbs on paths overgrown with grass, a slab of asphalt in the central reservation and a prayer are all you get
And yes, it's still a significant improvement
An absolute active travel disaster that is the planned Nottingham Knight junction
Meanwhile, in the UK we are about to see *significant improvements* to crossing the A52 with this.
Yes that's right - 4 or 7 Toucan crossings and shared paths which vanish just beyond the junction!
* my first computer was a rubber keyed Spectrum. I mainly used the joystick on that! That keyboard was an abomination.
The 1st computer I regularly typed* on was a word processor with no shift key, moved onto a hand me down pc with a broken caps lock key... That was some painful retraining.
Mind you, I still can't use an American keyboard (and the tiny enter key) without every line ending being replaced with a "\"

Unsurprising - the NMBS operated Lille ↔️ Antwerpen train is a quality example.
Want to travel from Gent to Kortrijk? Use the NMBS/SNCB app.
Want to travel *on the same train from* Gent to Lille? Oh, you've got register for and use the SNCB International app.
🤦♂️
An outline planning application for a housing development near (the canned) HS2 station highlighted that NCN 68 was nearby on the cancel (implying they needed no cycle infra)...
Said housing development was next to the M1 & near Donington Park - so why did they bother with all the roads? 🤔

Strava segment names really do give out some useful local knowledge!
Unless that change results in them getting more money, naturally.
Some generic new build houses with front doors opening onto a car park
Are you saying the architectural beauty of our new build housing estates could be improved some what? 🤯
Also, what's with politicians in right wing parties constantly expecting the private sector to pay?

If free parking is such a boon for local businesses, then surely they'd be queuing up to fund the costs the council would incurr providing such a service, as they'd be raking it in?
🤔
A Nottingham City Transport electric bus
An EV powered Ice Cream Van, no added diesel fumes 🤩
Stoffel Vandoornes Formula E car racing inside London's ExCeL
A line up of EVs in Nottingham's market square, including vans, cars, and a taxi
It is pretty impressive how EVe gone from butt of joke milk-floats and weird desert curiosities to become buses, taxis, vans, cars, bin wagons, ice cream vans, and race cars which can race indoors within my lifetime.
One year later...
Do you want to buy <the exact same> air conditioner again?
It's not often you see plaques marking the beginning of a new era, it's more often you see them marking the passing of an old one (like this marking the end of steam which happened in Preston).
George Russell playing Padel
Charles Leclerc on the golf course doing a photo shoot
Like, where's the Padel and Golf sections?!
Surely it would be a better use of limited funds to support public transport / adjusting shifts to align with better public transport and supporting travel modes that offer improved health outcomes & reduced costs to the NHS? www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Looks like it also makes parking "frustrating" and they've insufficient spaces to cope with the demand... www.nhsggc.scot/nhsggc-renew...
Not a full scale map, but
app.traveltime.com/search?aId=2...
Is good for seeing how the map changes for different transport mode from a certain place (centred on my local leisure centre)
And www.chronotrains.com/en/station/2... for how far you can travel by train in X hours.
To give an example - if City Of Leeds had introduced WPL at the same time and got similar levels of WPL income per resident; that's approx £222m, or ⅓ of NET Phase 2 paid for. With that plus £100mn from the EIB perhaps Leeds might have persuaded tesuary to open it's pockets for the Leeds Tram...
Even "better" - any patients, visitors or staff who's shifts/appointments/hours start between 9 - 5 or between 2 hours before & after a football game would be highly unlikely to get a space then.
So that would be NHS budget wasted to provide no gain to the hospital staff, patients, and visitors 👏
It's pretty telling that Boots threatened to move all their parking outside the city (their campus spans both the City & County Council areas), but instead most of their land outside the City has since been sold for redevelopment as new housing estates, and most parking remains in the City.
