There are hockey things on my calendar tomorrow for 7 am, 1 pm, 2 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm, and 10 pm.

I'm not going to everything on the calendar, but it's still kinda dizzying!

This is just one of those things I thought of while doing my U.S. Taxes. Which is something you have to do even if you don't live in the U.S., for some stupid reason.

I wonder what the Pope’s IRS return looks like?

I play with people who wear Cooper gear. But that’s women’s rec league.

Deslauriers sporting the EASTON elbow pads! They haven’t made those since the early 2010’s!

Right!? I was surprised, but not *that* surprised.

Rhiannon keeps popping up in my “people you may know” list on FB. Apparently we have some music pals in common.

Anyhow, this is me talking about it a few days ago at work…

So yeah, the agency to live as the person you truly are *necessarily* comes with the agency to live that life with the lowest possible profile.

If you want. If that's good for you.

Nobody gets to decide how visible or invisible you are - nobody but YOU.

AGENCY is the name of the game here. Trans people know what it's like to fight for their own agency. To fight for their right to be who they are, regardless of what anyone else says. To rebel against oppressive expectations and roles...

a life with lower visibility can be a life with higher peace, dignity, safety, and even health. So it's a viable choice that should be respected, if not celebrated (celebrating low visibility sort of defeats the purpose)...

It's trans day of visibility. Remember, some of the trans people you know are uncomfortable with a lot visibility. They don't want to be friends with people who can't talk to or about them without bringing up their transness. They may even dream about a trans day of non-salience...

Brent Burns was in the league at the same time as Mark Messier. Messier played in the league with Howe, Mikita, and Bobby Hull.

You ever stop and think about how, literally every single active NHL player is in the league with a guy who was in the league with a guy who was in the league with Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, and Gordie Howe?

Yeah yeah you can skate and score and stickhandle - I wanna see what you do when somebody messes with your goalie.

If you wouldn't be on Twitter, you shouldn't subscribe to the NY Times or Washington Post, for the exact same reasons.

Like, my oldest plays at the highest “non-contact” level available.

Yes, it’s almost certainly safer in a lot of ways. Plenty of folks don’t want to deal w/the costs - physical & financial - of the higher level contact leagues.

But wow, the way the “non-contact” leagues benefit dirty players!

There’s nothing that makes me appreciate hitting and fighting in hockey more than watching competitive hockey without hitting and fighting.

I’m one of four siblings, and I’m the only one who wasn’t an NCAA athlete. Dad was offered an NCAA wrestling scholarship but got married and started working instead.

I was never a “successful” athlete as a kid, but holy cow, am I head over heels for low-stakes adult recreational sports.

It was nice to hear, from someone who is a pretty strong player, that what I’m doing out there makes me hard to play against.

She said, “Every time I came off the ice, I was like ‘man, June is hard to play against!’”

Nobody’s ever told me that before. I think of myself as mediocre at best. I’m not fast. Not a great stick handler. I’m a stay-at-home defender & I never score. But I’m a lot to skate around & I block shots…

We bumped into each other at the bar after the game. She said “I would definitely rather play with you than play against you!”

“Omigod, K! Same!,” I said. “That play in the corner! I was like ‘holy shit who *was* that!?’”

But I was like “who the hell was that?!?!”

I looked around, and it was one of my old teammates. Also tall, also strong on the puck and along the boards.

“Ohhhh,” I said. “That was K! Of course it was! Also - damn!”

Last night, I chased a puck into our left corner. Someone was bearing down on me hard. I kept trying to lift her stick, then to get my body between her and the puck.

Well, she never let up, and my body didn’t seem to deter her one bit.

I managed to rim the puck around to the opposite side…

In my league, they mix the rosters up every year. So after a few years, you’re playing against former teammates pretty much every game. I love that…

My parents are 3 hours from Raleigh. It’s a long drive. Hillsboro Barbecue or Old Time Barbecue on the way to the game, Sheetz or Waffle House on the way home 😋

Gotta love a night when I’m at an NHL game and still in my pajamas by 10:30 pm.

Oh, it happened the other night in Raleigh!? My fault!

Well, I bet not many can say they saw 300 and 701 in person, lol.

No visit to Scotiabank Arena would be complete without overhearing at least one conversation between two older Leafs fans talking about the team in the meanest, most disdainful tone imaginable.

How many Canes fans can say they were at the game when Fishy got his 300th goal *and* the game when he got his 700th point?
