Great to be at #FOSDEM!
Saturday was full of open source energy, great conversations around #OpenProject and digital sovereignty, and a relaxed evening in Brussels with @xwikisas.bsky.social, @nextcloud.bsky.social, @cryptpad.org, @passbolt.bsky.social, and the wider community. 💚

Great ! I hope you enjoyed it !
With more than 2,5 million pads open each month CryptPad is both growing in Europe and growing fast in the US where it contribute to protecting democracy.
We believe Open Source is the best solution to rebuild our sovereignty. Let's go !
In the consumer space, we are also ready with CryptPad which brings a solution to individuals and NGO to have collaboration tools protecting their data from extractive business models.
We have already deployed large customers such as the European Parliament, Amnesty Germany and are part of openDesk by Zentrum Digitale Souveränität (ZenDiS) in Germany.
XWiki SAS is ready with our great alternative to Confluence and Notion with great Confluence migration tools, with choice of On Premise or Cloud, unlike our proprietary competitors.
We know need actual actions and build as Cristina Caffarra is saying. We need European institutions and companies to buy and deploy the solutions that are already there.
I'm participating today to the Euro Stack event "Rebuilding Europe's Sovereignty" in a full room. After this weeks Sovereignty Summit organized by the French state, this shows that the wind is changing directions and we finally in Europe are realizing the importance of Digital Autonomy.
If you share your key, your data gets a backdoor... In the cloud, it could be interesting to know what happens to disk encryption keys for such cases.

We were both surprised. I said "Yes I agree, you should run Linux, I do" !
This is how Open Source will spread ! Talk about it ! I regret not giving stickers !
As another passenger in front of me was collecting his computer from one of the security guards, the guard say "Are you running Linux, you should run Linux it's faster" (he was running Windows).
Free Software wins over real people !
Yesterday, I was at the Airport in Berlin, coming back from the European Digital Sovereignty Summit.

I've just contributed to CryptPad. Consider supporting them too — every little helps! https://opencollective.com/cryptpad
I used #cryptpad today and it's really really good and does very much exactly what I want.
They're doing very good work!

I'm split on the name.. Some complain about it, some tell me it's great..
Actually CryptPad was created at XWiki, who has now 9 employees on it :) There are very little volunteers on CryptPad beyond those that use it and make it known through that. But maybe we need to fix that. As a CEO, I've always been refraining to ask for free work, but for CryptPad, I might.
If people have suggestions on how we can fix that for CryptPad, I'm open for discussions.
If there are volunteers to help, we'd like to give a push on this but we have no spare money for it. Our lead designer is also our project lead and time is lacking
We started with the simple and ease of use goal, have been deriving into larger platform.. We want to do both.. We want to do desktop and mobile.. Funding matters..
Probably better on mobile but only for basic docs. Life is easier will smaller goals and more money. It is for sure in our goals to change that.. Any help welcome.
We want to fix that.. Any help welcome.
No e2ee in Docs and only text docs. nice UI which we plan to match over time. Any support for helping us on that would be appreciated.
