Self-Portrait as the “i” in Florida, winner of the 2025 Donald Justice Poetry Prize (selected by Major Jackson), is a love letter to Miami and a meditation on fatherhood, alive with contradiction and heat.
Happy Pub Day, Scott.

We had such a wonderful weekend hosting Ren Cedar Fuller in Pittsburgh to celebrate her debut essay collection, BIGGER!
From her workshop to her reading alongside contributors from Short Reads, Ren brought both a deep enthusiasm for the craft and a remarkable empathy for the lives she writes about.
Looking forward to hearing AHP Board Member Robert Yune read with AHP author Ren Cedar Fuller!
I have a new piece up @short-reads.org today about wassail choirs, strip clubs, New Zealand and a questionable life plan called the nonstop party wagon.
We're thrilled to be joined by Short Reads contributors: @robertyune.bsky.social, @halliepritts.bsky.social, & M.S. Reagan. It’s going to be a wonderful night of writing and community, and we hope to see you there!
Tonight!
We’re thrilled to cohost this special evening with Short Reads as we celebrate the Pittsburgh launch of Ren Cedar Fuller’s essay collection, BIGGER, welcoming Ren all the way from Seattle.
We’re also delighted to be part of SR’s 3-year anniversary celebration. 🧡🫏🏠
