Neil deGrass Tyson: "How sad it must be believing that scientists, historians, scholars, economists, journalists devoted their entire lives to deceiving you, but a reality-TV star proven in court to be a lying felon is your beacon of truth & honesty"

Charles Dudley Krenz, 72, died from complications of bile duct cancer on May 29 at his home in Winston, Oregon.

Charles spent the majority of his life making poor use out of every opportunity and privilege awarded him and attempting to make everyone around him as miserable as he was. Bright but lacking curiosity, confident but devoid of empathy, Charles was given second, third, even fourth chances throughout his life, but squandered them with a predictable consistency that borders on deliberate.

At the time of his death, he had alienated himself from almost all who cared for him.
Those people will not be surprised that there was no deathbed change of heart here. Chaz remained unpleasant until the very end.

Charles is preceded in death by his partner Jacquelyn Sullivan, whose warmth and good graces provided a reason for others to tolerate him for 27 years until her death from ovarian cancer in 2017. He is survived by his two children, AC Sullivan and Hank Sullivan, who, in the years since their father stole a bunch of money from them and skipped town, have been both relieved and dismayed to learn that breaking generational curses only really takes a modicum of personal effort.

the Star Tribune just called me and told me they would not be publishing the obituary I wrote for my father as it is “unfair to him” and “in poor taste” so here it is and fuck the strib ✌🏻

Same story, but it was Bonobo and I said I'd really love to meet you but perhaps not here and he said fair enough and then he disappeared

A sculpture of three men by J. Mendes da Costa on a building side in Amsterdam. The central figure can only look ahead, unable to bear witness to the horrors about to unfold as the figure on the left holds out their hand in the classic "low" position of a hi-five, moments away from withdrawing it from the extending palm of the right-most figure, thus inventing the down below too slow.

So much art and culture to appreciate in Amsterdam, my favourite of which was this sculpture commemorating the invention of the down low too slow.

Think for a moment about what the Office 365 brand means.

It means you're in the office every damned day, every damned week, every damned month, all year long.

Me: Begins to explain…

This ANZAC day I am reflecting on an active genocide in which our nation is complicit.
That we don't yet recognise the Frontier Wars fought on our soil.
That there are people with so little respect for our nation they will refuse to acknowledge whose Country they are on.

In the last interview of his life (1996), astronomer Carl Sagan gave an eerily prescient warning of the dangers that come when you cannot ask skeptical scientific questions of those in authority. Watch and ask yourself: was he right?

There have been two conclaves previously held during Australian federal elections, in 1914 and 1958, but this is the first time the papacy will be vacant on election day.

It is an article of faith in Trump’s era that - aside from the crime of defying him - nobody resigns for anything. Nobody is fired for anything. Nobody even admits fault. However egregious the act, accountability would be a win for the libs, and denying that is more important than anything.

Somehow, I think it will take more than letter writing to get certain council members to listen, but you've got to start somewhere.
