My android phone updated itself and changed the function of the power button to launching Google's AI assistant. A search on Reddit finally told me what's going on and how to revert to the original function. #android
4 ibises on the edge of a dam
1 ibis walking along edge of a dam
A lot of people don't like ibises - and they do hang out at the tip eating rubbish. But they are beautiful when you see them flying and wading in the dam. They are probably eating the little frogs though. #ausbirds #photography #southerntablelands #ibis
Is that a kind of silo for grain?
Single frame. Title “Grace under fire?” Reporter stands beside PM Albanese who is tied into a knot. Albo says; “What I meant to say is, being me can be difficult.”
Difficult.

A table is set for a meal. Six children are gathered around it and mother stands leading the saying of grace. Everybody lowers their heads in prayer heads except granny, sitting in the corner who looks up with a crafty expression.
Questions Ladybird never answered.
Was Granny being subversive?

2 birds perched on the edge of a birdbath under a tree. Pne os a sparrow or fantail, the other is twice as big and has a bump on its beak, tail up in the air
The noisy friarbird again, looking jaunty. The other bird a fantail or sparrow. Has been over 40 degrees this week and the bordbaths are getting a workout. #auswildlife #birds #climate

A Pied Oystercatcher with distinctive black and white plumage, bright orange-red bill, and pink legs stands on rocky coastal terrain with water visible in the background. White text reads "PRACTICE STAYING STILL" as the headline, with instructions to find a comfortable spot and stay quietly for ten minutes. Text in the lower right reads "It's worth it, we promise." Try finding a comfortable spot and staying there quietly for just ten minutes.
It's worth it, we promise.
Flying foxes in a dark, cloudy sky
New Year's Eve, just before the 9pm fireworks started, Grey-headed Flying Foxes crossed the Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra to go to their roosts in the trees.
A dark brown bat glides over water.
A dark brown bat glides over water, and splashes where it's just grazed the water fly into the air.
This striking bat, the Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus), is found only in Australia. They're also critical pollinators & seed dispersers for over 100 native tree & plant species!

Kangaroo sitting behind a fence next to a bottlebrush tree
As I approached the kangaroo it hopped behind the bottlebrush tree and hid there #auswildlife
Sunshine on paddock with some large low clouds and lots of little round clouds
Treetops with blue sky and a big cloud with feathery fingers reaching down towards the trees
More of the same
So many birds flying around in the wind before the heatwave! 5 species of birds were together at one birdbath. Didn't get a photo though. But interesting clouds after the wind changed direction. #aussieheatwave #heatwave #wind #clouds #ausbirds

Noisy Friarbird perched in fork of a eucalyptus tree
Lovely morning for a walk. Not a soul to be seen, just dogs barking, birds, a wallaby and a red bellied black snake crossing the road. The bird here is a Noisy Friarbird, it has a bump on top of its beak. #ausbirds #auswildlife #xmasday #bordercollie
Storm clouds over a paddock with light shining down from the sun behind the clouds
Storm clouds over the paddock with rain about to start
Yesterday's thunderstorm approaching.
What kind of sheep are they?
Had that happen with a turtle that was laying eggs.

The full moon looking 3D and orange because of the eclipse

Forgot the alt text. Orange or rusty colour centipede with about 21 legs and long pincer type things, on grass.
Scary looking orange-footed centipede found under a rotting log. Apparently a voracious predator but mildly toxic to humans. #auswildlife #ausinverts
