Protest Checklist Before stepping out the door, make sure you’ve got: • Fully charged phone and portable charger • ID and health essentials • Water and a light snack • Emergency contact info • A copy of your rights or legal hotline number • A clear plan for how you’re getting home This isn’t just about showing up, it’s about showing up smart.
Know Your Rights – Before You Protest If you’re heading out today, make sure you know the legal protections you carry with you — whether or not anyone reminds you of them. • You have the right to remain silent. You don’t have to answer questions beyond basic ID (where required). • You can ask: “Am I free to go?” If the answer is yes, leave calmly. If not, ask: “Am I being detained?” • You have the right to record public officials in public spaces. You can document what’s happening as long as you’re not interfering. • You do not have to consent to a search. Clearly state, “I do not consent to any search.” Do not resist physically. • Stay calm. Document what you can. Badge numbers, names, time, location. Ask for legal counsel if detained. Protect yourself. Protect others. Know your rights, and use them. *NOT LEGAL ADVICE*
Dress for the Weather, Dress for the Message Before you hit the streets, make sure you’re dressed for both the conditions and the cause. Today’s forecast is calling for light rain and cooler temps in the mid-50s. That means: • Layer up and wear water-resistant shoes or boots • Bring a poncho or hooded jacket — they work better than umbrellas in a crowd • Pack light, and leave anything behind that could get in the way Safety Tip: Stick to solid, neutral colors. It helps reduce facial recognition and keeps you from standing out unnecessarily. Avoid clothing with logos or identifiers, and skip scarves or loose accessories that can be grabbed or pulled. And don’t forget your sign. Protect it with clear tape or a waterproof sleeve. Reinforce corners to avoid tearing. A visible message is a powerful one — even in the rain.
Protest smart. Protest safe.
Know your rights, dress for impact, and protect your message — rain or shine.
We’re out here to be seen, heard, and respected.
Lace Up. Show Up.

Hi there! 😁
The locations are the same for today: it is the area directly inside of the Boston Common, across from the state house. As a recently formed nonprofit organization, we are still in the process of developing everything, including our other initiatives which are not related to protests.
Thank you to everyone donating so far!

A graphic image of a stern looking Uncle Sam with the phrase DO NOT OBEY IN ADVANCE underneath. OBEY is white letters on a red background, stand out.
My previous sign "No one voted for Elon Musk" but now covered on the Musky part with the "FORK OFF" symbol of a clenched hand with a fork (a reference to the fork in the road emails). Underneath it says "I support Federal workers".
Hey #Boston: 11am Monday, State House protest. @50501movement.bsky.social and @lusuinc.bsky.social are gonna make noise.
Sunday looks lousy--get some sign making stuff today and work on your message for Monday. I'm working on mine.
See you there. Dress warm.
