The Natural Resources Team is working hard to restore the Arboretum’s wetlands by managing invasive European alder and glossy buckthorn. Each year, they cut, burn, and treat the aggressive species to open up space for plants like marsh marigold to thrive.

The Arboretum will be closed to guests tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 23, 2026 due to forecasted extreme cold weather, in alignment with the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ move to reduced operations.🥶❄️
