More sad news for kids and creators and the people who connect them. Hugs to all affected, which is everyone because every time something like this happens book access erodes a bit more… until we find a new way.
This is so good
What a fabulous cover. Congrats!
Awful. And ultimately the kids are the ones that are gonna hurt the most. Dial made fabulous books. This is a huge loss for the industry & society.
ttyl for real
Should I make this my profile pic
(Eddie just texted me when I had Bluesky open. I'll go back to Instagram close friends soon, I promise.)
Whenever my LA friends ask me what living for 10 years in NYC was like, I should just show them this
Ah got it, I misinterpreted, apologies! Hoping things get better <3
IP work is really the best way to go about it. Congrats! And completely agree!
AI could never: Obi on Umby
For the record, when he gave it to me he said, "So you may not like this...."
He knew I'd be picky about it. This is true love, haha.
Good stuff is still happening, it's just harder. Really hoping the pendulum swings back sooner rather than later. I know it WILL, I just don't want it to wreck everything further before it does. Sending 💕
not unless it's on tiktok
I love my husband so much. Today he was out & saw a vegan hotdog, so he brought me one for dinner.
(that's how I learned that apparently I’ve hidden for 8 years that I hate hotdogs. but I tried it anyway!)
Turns out it was a great hotdog bc I absolutely hated it.
Yay! Mazel tov, I'm sure you were wonderful!
90s photo of a Taiwanese American preschooler sitting on the grass and wearing a floofy dress. She looks deeply skeptical. Text reads: this is who unionized with her fellow workers
ICYMI, I quit my job and am in my freelance era 😌✌️I believe in compliment sandwiches, I love unions, and I hate genAI. Hire me for your kidlit editorial needs! 🔗 jamyangbooks.com
So sorry. I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but it will be ok *because* you will make it ok. DMs are open. Take some time for yourself too though <3
Unfortunately, I don't think they care :/
I've had this album on in the car today and I have to say it is an excellent album released last November by Spock's Beard. It encompasses everything a modern prog album should."complex and multilayered without being bewildering,"

I'll return to @ing the Cheesecake Factory for removing their impossible burger soon.
They're disinvesting in kidlit and laying off kidlit editors as we're headed into a recession, when we all know kid's books are recession-proof because kids always gotta read. Talk about shortsighted 🤷
(Clearly, this is my monthly "oh yeah, I forgot Bluesky exists" tirade)
Sorry to go off, I just get so heated about this, esp bc so many good people I know are being laid off by these clowns who think AI can do anything they can (it can't)
Wish the tech gurus would just pivot to making working home printers
profits into green if they keep going, they have to sell their (bad) product to useful idiots (people in leadership positions who can't convert a file to a pdf and now no longer have to ask their 30-year-old employee to do so, claude can!).
Oh and also: Friendly reminder that AI doesn't do shit, it's not good at shit, and yes, people can tell when you use it.
The reason why CEOs/middle leaders like it is because they're being sold it by tech companies that are close to bankrupt. OpenAI is in the red. They're not gonna flip their
ever again, just know that I am cringing internally with how it will deepen the breadth of whatever it is I'm thinking about you (insert not ____ but _____ statement here, and group of three things, and ellipses...stylized without spaces)
I do believe the AI bubble will burst, because I do genuinely believe it's all a grift. But it's also a massively harmful grift that's causing job loss, brain rot, and environmental harm.
When it finally goes the route of NFTs we'll all be better off.
And if I have to read the word "deepen"
