Map of Arizona describing which sections observe Daylight Savings
And finally there is also part of the Hopi Reservation elsewhere in the Navajo Nation which doesn't. So driving across this hundred-mile stretch would technically necessitate seven clock changes!
While Arizona ignores DST, the Navajo Nation inside of Arizona follows it. Inside of the Navajo Nation is the Hopi Reservation which, like Arizona, ignores daylight saving time. Going deeper, inside of the Hopi Reservation is another part of the Navajo Nation which does follow daylight saving time.
Map of Arizona describing which sections observe Daylight Savings
Last night, Europe moved their clocks forward an hour and welcomed (Western|Central|Eastern) European Summer Time and this reminds me of my favorite DST map. Buckle up for the ride, as narrated by CGP Grey, and be ready to change your clocks a few times!
Screenshot of the details of the decommissioned Linode VM
After 6 years, 5 months and 1 day of faithful service, I've retired this Linode VM that served me so well as a mail server for a variety of side projects. It was also the longest running server I've had so far.
Giving Threema a try, but only 4 people on my contact list use it π
Pretty big news! This week, the National Cyber Security Centre of the UK announced that it will be rolling out passkeys across the UKβs digital services later this year. The organization will also be joining the FIDO Alliance to help shape the evolution of passkeys. www.ncsc.gov.uk/news/governm...
Yay Canada!
All of Spain, Portugal and Andorra are without power right now. Nobody knows what happened or how the entire grid went kaput.
You can pair EasyRide with the half fare card and not have to worry about pre booking tickets. You just check in at the station and check out when you arrive and it automatically charges you the cheapest ticket type.
Ah, is that who's playing in San Diego?
What about using the elephant place as a backup?
I haven't gone on a date yet; but I have sure as hell paid taxes every year, and for four of those years to the IRS π
Oh, you mean entirely. Not just run your own hosting π
Everyone should use their domain as their handle! π
Thought I'd share a little geeky project I've taken on. Introducing smtp.codes:
smtp.codes is a collection of SMTP response codes returned by email servers and a guide to help you understand what the SMTP codes that various email servers respond with mean.
@natehiggins.bsky.social You should use your domain as your handle π

TIL two of Amex's cofounders were Henry Wells and William Fargo.
Yes, those same two would later create the other well known institution when the board of Amex (then still an 'express shipping' company, hence the name) did not want to expand to California during the gold rush.
I bought another one yesterday... I promise this is the last one for the foreseeable future as I continue my journey to consolidate my portfolio of products.
A customized sign based on Futurama that says zero days since last domain purchase
To be fair, I've gotten a lot better and this is the first since ~July last year
Happy with testers across the pond too?
first name #domains folks (there's dozens of us, dozens), have you settled on a username / local portion of your first name domain email? name@name feels repetitive, but i haven't found anything else that clicks better for me.
I started with hi@, but recently moved to f@ -- open to hearing thoughts though!
Screenshot showing an Apple system prompt asking for the PIN to unlock the security key
I envision using it when I need to log in on devices that are not mine. Because of the need for a PIN, it slightly slows the process down as I need to enter the PIN to use it either as a passkey or second factor, vs just using a platform key with FaceID.
Earlier this week I got my first FIDO2 hardware security key from TOKEN2, a Swiss security company. Today, I finally sat down to configure it and deploy it on a few sites.
Herzlichen GlΓΌckwunsch zu 22 Jahren! Reading your blog posts, website and support articles help me get immersed into German (which I am slowly learning!)
