Big congrats to my undergrad student, Alethea Quick, who completed a senior honors thesis analyzing our US nationally representative data on orgasm coercion. 91.4% of participants had ever experienced some form of orgasm coercion & we didn’t really see sig differences by various identity groups. 🤯

New psychology research explains why some women devalue their own orgasms When women consistently experience infrequent orgasms, both they and their partners mentally downgrade the importance of climaxing. While this psychological shift protects short-term self-esteem, new research suggests it might ultimately perpetuate the ongoing orgasm gap.

A new study suggests that women start to devalue their own orgasms when they happen infrequently. This may be self-protective in the short term, but may ultimately widen the orgasm gap. www.psypost.org/new-psychology-research-...

It’s true: not all men use sexual force. But 95.1% of men in a recent, anonymous survey of men between the ages of 18 and 34 reported having recently used at least one strategy to get a woman to have sex who they knew did not want sex and had not consented. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/...

I’m also growing increasingly concerned about pre-prints - the theory & motivations behind them are well-intended, but I’ve already seen news sites (& now this suggests AI) report on pre-prints as though they are full-fledged scientific publications.

It’s upper-level content on intro-level topics (e.g., theories, anatomy, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, gender, porn, etc.). There is info on kink & poly but we were just talking about stepping it up in the 17th ed! So there is some but I would say it’s intro info for non-kink/poly practitioners.

Love this!! I have been thinking that it can be difficult to get participants to report on negative/problematic behaviors when they are currently in the relationship if they’re otherwise satisfied, bc the overall positive sentiment shapes how they see all the things!

Men who favor the tradwife lifestyle often view the women in it with derision A new study reveals that young men who support the so-called tradwife movement are driven more by hostile sexism and resentment toward women than by a chivalrous desire to protect and provide for them.

2026 Sexual Education Curriculum Requirements In The US - Sex and Psychology A look at the state of sex education in the United States in 2026.

A positive development in the world of sex ed is that 5 states added a requirement to teach about sexual consent last year. However, that only brings the total number to 16. In 2026, the vast majority of states still don't require consent instruction. www.sexandpsychology.com/blog/2026/4/...

Is the U.S. Tax Code Anti-Feminist?

“The tax code often assumes that economic resources within a household are shared equally and that caregiving has no independent economic value. Both assumptions obscure the realities of inequality and disproportionately disadvantage women.”

Scientists studied why women want less sex than men—they now have an answer Drawing on evidence from more than 300 scientific studies, researchers have debunked a long-held myth about women's desire.

New research suggests that the reason women tend to report less sexual desire than men may not be due to biological differences, but early negative sexual experiences that occur during an important developmental period. www.newsweek.com/sex-libido-gap-scientist...
