have you ever heard of "snapewives"? they were women who believed they were married to severus snape. phenomena of this sort proves that a pop cultural phenomenon has successfully embedded itself in the zeitgeist, and this was achieved in scp with talloraven shipping

at least 35% of scp authors are more akin to what other fandoms would consider "big name fans" and it shows

scp is inherently unmonetizable and i think it would be immensely funny to let people who spend their time writing for the site try to do so harder as opposed to letting rent seeking vultures and ip hunters monetize it post hoc

series i was pop cultural slurry but of stuff nobody on the site in series ii or series iii was anime-addicted enough to watch

more people should put pictures of hot women as the primary image of their otherwise unrelated scps

a core tragedy of scp is that the writers approach it as inherently unmonetizable as fanworks e.g. fanfic, fanart but there's no legal force stopping content farms from milking it for all it's worth
