often having a hobby is like, a reason to mock someone in the US

the religion's purpose is the outcome it produces and close-readings of one of the most malleable texts in western history is not going to change what Christianity is, there is no Good Christian Church that is going to save us just as there is no Good US Constitution that wards off fascism

idk I feel like if your main avenue of criticizing the church/conservatives/right-wingers/etc is trying to argue that actually The Bible is liberal (and good, actually) and they're all just doing it wrong, you've completely lost the plot and are as ineffectual as you are ahistorical
