I can't vote for a billionaire. We've got enough of them ruining everything.
What's the situation with Tip Hayes?
It was awesome for a minute. Trade? Why?
Imagine the ticket sales just to see Flau'jae!
Suarez was still on the board - were we desperate for a 2nd round in 2028?
Some can fly.
The "world politics" are centered around oil right now. Most people want a return to normal, but there is no "normal" anymore.
Let's move past the handshake. I want your take on why many of the tournament games were 30 point blowouts and the semis barely got to 50 points a side.
Is there a massive stratification? Coaching? NIL? It's not a lack of talented athletes.
I don't know the answer, but check with @oaklandprivacy.bsky.social or @404media.co about the percentage of cases solved because of Flock.
It can't work. And it's crazy that our city officials don't fire the engineers who think the kids are at fault.
Practically speaking, it's not easy to see through the windshield glare. But I've also heard cyclists say they made eye contact and the driver hit them anyway. Just distracted. Now bots?
We asked our local traffic engr about the increasing rate of cyclists <15 yrs old getting hit by cars. Response was for schools to tell kids to make eye contact with drivers. (Blame the kids!)
Eye contact with bots now?
Perhaps an excursion, though.
My comments were sarcasm, btw. Those were staff's comments (should have been quotes).
I think about my own accident and how staff had no questions for me. Yet they claim they're consistent with fundamentals of Vision Zero.
Local HOAs have put up private networks around here.
Also, we rank poorly because other cities don't report collisions as well as we do.
Also, those aren't e-motos because our police officers know the difference. "What's an e-moto?"
Also, you can't trust SWITRS.
I sat through an annual collision report from our city last night. We rank 4th percentile for similar CA cities for "bicyclists <15". The proposed countermeasure for kids getting struck by vehicles is signs telling kids to make eye contact with drivers. Apparently, it's the kids' fault?
People who never use BART will be totally screwed, too. In the past, if service was delayed, traffic on freeways and every viable surface street was clogged for the commute.
And yet, by not calling his unfitness or the lunacy, they are part of the story. If there's a future, historians will not be kind.

"...stakeholders consistently pointed to e-moto use — not e-bike use — as the source of the most dangerous behavior on streets and trails. It specifically warns against over-regulating e-bikes..."

Oops, sorry.

You are loved. Never doubt how much you mean to those around you.

Reminds me of the Hope Solo story.
I've ridden hwy 50 (during the Silver State 508) and hwy 4 + hwy 89 (during the Death Ride). So I imagine hwy 88 is similar. They are fantastic roads, but yeah, not much room.
A few weeks ago, I encountered the word "sophistry": A deliberately invalid argument displaying ingenuity in reasoning in the hope of deceiving someone.
Now, everything my local Traffic Engineer ever said is hitting differently. For that matter, ... <gestures broadly at everything>

Pleasanton has a city-owned park up on Pleasanton Ridge. East Bay Regional Parks owns adjacent land. The e-bike rules are not the same as you ride from one to the other. Of course, no one is enforcing the rules anyway.
Check in with the residents from Pleasanton's "Budget Advisory Committee" members (residents). We got the same type survey. City ultimately did what they wanted to do, ignoring & angering committee members.
New $4M homes went in near me. Prop 13 isn't the problem.
if the contract expires, but the cameras are still operating, does that mean that the data privacy has lapsed?
Also, does the City of Oakland have a policy for private Flock networks?
Asking from Pleasanton which is actively expanding Flock networks.
I rolled into a drive-thru on my bike once (California) and was told bikes aren't allowed. I had to park (lean against the nearest pole) and walk inside.
A bridge demolished.
When Bertem closed a key road for bridge works, they didn't wait for complaints — they monitored traffic in real time across local streets. Result: detours working, unexpected truck problems flagged, residents informed with facts.
