The Names by Florence Knapp is undoubtedly one of my top fiction reads of 2025, it’s an amazing sliding doors type of a novel with some extremely dark themes running through around domestic abuse which fits so well with @medicalwomenuk.bsky.social and @dauk-gp.bsky.social #DAAD this month
Open for bookings now:

we know intimately what the real threat to women looks like. Cisgender men who abuse their power are the real threat. Not trans people. Not in our name. NION Women icon.
⚠️ Women in the UK don’t need to be told what danger looks like — we live it every day.
⛔ One woman is killed by a man every three days in this country (Femicide Census, 2023)
⛔ In 2023, 1.7 million women experienced domestic abuse (ONS, 2023).
It is not trans people who perpetrate these crimes.
Love the very bones of this young person who had such a disrupted education in Y6/7 due to Covid, was diagnosed autistic in y10 and has had one hell of a few months with her dad leaving us. But she triumphed with 9 fabulous GCSEs and a place in 6th form!! Proud does not come close
Pretty excited for the entire event #GP5TX but this session in particular covers such an important #MedEd hot topic. #MedSky #MedEdSky

ARCP panel always better with a good lunch
Back to work tomorrow after 6 weeks of parental leave GCSE support sabbatical. Will I remember how to be a GP? Here’s hoping because I have a 7am extended access clinic to settle me in! Either way it’ll almost certainly be less stressful than teenager revision angst.
TW: child death
This is so beautifully written and I suspect many of us and our colleagues will benefit from reading it.

Congratulations
Best feeling as a podcast host to get feedback from listeners! #PoetrySky #MedSky
"My experience has been that patients who are referred to upper GI with biliary colic go on to receive an cholecystectomy without exception, which leads me to question the rigour of the process."
Does that sound ok? Nope. So why is ADHD somehow different???
Spring is definitely springing.
I think #GP5T9 was our best yet. I loved chairing this incredible panel and listening to some wise, insightful and thoughtful answers to some training conundrums.
If you missed it, it’s not too late to get your hands on the recordings.
Yesterday at GP5T9 our panel and speakers covered loads of topics, including the SCA and pass rate changes.
To find out all the content grab your post recording ticket now as it closes soon: bit.ly/GP5T9
‘All doctors are poets’
Do listen to this gem of a conversation - what a great poem and such an insightful reflection.
Am tempted to put pen to paper and do a paediatrician version…
Thankyou @tarageorge.bsky.social
Love listening to Ed Pooley. So clear. So much sense. #GP5T9
last minute plug for this which is live tomorrow (or on demand for 12m after) . If you were able to share with colleagues I'd be delighted.whilst primarily for GP trainers there's load there that's applicable for any medical educators and it's a bargain at £40 with 12m on demand access to recordings
A brilliant podcast from @toates.bsky.social talking to the wonderful @tarageorge.bsky.social.
Procrastination second breakfast as I try and fail to finish a presentation for a conference later in the month 😭
